The Midnight Love

Chapter XVI

I was being shook, and I groaned as I began to wake up from it. I pushed the hands away, but they were persistant. I finally opened my eyes and saw Bella sitting on me with her hands on my chest, shaking me. "what?" I groaned trying to pull the covers over my face. "wake up, baby. It's almost 5 in the afternoon and im thirsty and we're out of blood in the fridge. Will you go get more?" she asked me. "five more minutes." I grunted.

She started jumping on the bed and singing loudly. "okay, okay! i'm up." I said as I slowly sat up and got out of bed. She kissed the back of my shoulder and skipped to the kitchen to get the list of what she wanted. I pulled on jeans, shoes and a tshirt. She handed me the list and I stuck my tounge at her. She ignored my gesture and wrapped her arms around my neck. I leaned down and kissed her and she kissed back softly.

"I'll be back in a little bit ok?" i said to her, and then made my way to the elevator. On the 3rd floor, they had a blood bank with every type of blood you could dream of. and judging by this list, Bella wanted every kind. I got to the blood bank and walked in, ignoring the stares I received from the other people here. I picked up every type of blood that was on her list, and then some. I took it all up to the counter in the front of the shop and ignored the fire in my throat begining to ignite as I inhaled the scent of all the blood. I showed the man at the counter my Military card and he nodded and let me go through.

I thought it was great that we could go shopping just by taking an elevator a couple of floors up. I got back and dropped the stuff off with Bella. "I have to go out one more time ok honey?" I told her and she nodded and began to put the blood bags away while drinking one herself. "I love you." she called to me as I made my way out the door again.

I smiled as I walked towards the car. I started driving towards the mall again and finally I made it into the parking lot. The Jewlery store was open, and the man at the register recognized me. He opened the door for me and welcomed me, warmly. "The ring is ready sir, and it looks beautiful if i may say so myself." he said and I smiled as he brought it out for me to see.

"it looks wonderful" i told him and he put it in a small, squared, blue velvet box. I took the box and slipped it into my jacket pocket and thanked him a last time before heading back to my car. As I drove back, the butterflies made my stomach turn upside down.

Time seemed to flash by, and before I knew it, i was suddenly standing in front of Bella. "baby are you ok? wake up." she snapped her fingers and I finally broke out of the trance. "what?" I asked not sure what was happening. "nothing honey, you thirsty?" she asked, and I nodded quickly and scratched my neck where the fire began to encroach.

She went to the fridge and got us both some blood, we drank it together and then sat to watch tv. It was getting colder these days now that we were getting into November so I wrapped her in a blanket and let her curl up and snuggle on me.

We didnt find anything interesting on tv, so Bella looked up at me and kissed me gently. "I love you." she said as she softly rubbed my chest. I smiled back at her, "I love you too." I said. She smiled back and nestled her head on my chest. I leaned back and took the small box out of my jacket pocket.

I took a deep breath and then slid out from under her onto my knee. Bella gasped and held her hand to her mouth as she sat motionless on the couch. Her eyes became teary and I felt like I had a giant lump in my throat. For a moment I was relieved because it suppressed the constant fire in my throat. I stared at her with my mouth open but no words came out. She put her hands on her hips, "well? ask me." she said and I shook my head and snapped out of it. "oh uhh yeah... Bella, will you marry me?" I asked nervously, and opened the box for her to see the ring. She wiped the tears from her eyes and sniffled as she nodded, "yes, Bobby. I will."

I took the ring and gingerly slid it on her finger, and then looked up at her beautiful smile as she admired it. I smiled happily as she wrapped her arms around my neck and squeezed me tightly. I wrapped my arms around her waist and did the same. I picked her up and carried her to bed as she giggled and nibbled on my ear as she continued to admire her ring.

We laid down in bed and stared at each other, smiling. We kissed every few minutes, but other than that my focus was fixated on her beautiful blue eyes. It sent a shiver down my spine, now realizing that this unfathomably beautiful girl, in my arms was now mine forever. And I felt like a kid and smiled to myself knowing that i'd never have to share at all. She was all mine, forever and always. And now as i thought about the events that had transpired these past few weeks, none of it seemed that bad anymore, because i knew that as long as i had Bella, everything would turn out ok.
