Alright, so I'm going to be doing something different for these bonus chapters.
Originally, they were all going to be posted at once as usual and they were going to be posted before Agent 34 because one of the chapters does pertain to what will be going on in Agent 34. However, I was unable to finish the chapters as planned because of the death in my family, the funeral, and also the vacation me and my family still went on. On top of all that, I still have a lot of other stuff I've been working on as well.
But, I will be starting to post the bonus chapters as of today, though, they will not be posted all at once and instead will be posted as I finish them. I will be putting out announcements whenever a new bonus chapter has been posted so you can read them as I finish them, or you can simply choose to wait until all of them have been completed and posted.
With that being said, instead of posting only part of a bonus chapter for you all to read, I have posted the entire chapter this time.
Why? Well because this chapter is most important for anyone who wishes to read Agent 34.
This chapter is the final bonus chapter (but I wrote it first for all of you) but if I had waited to post it as I go chapter by chapter as they're finished, it would be a long time before it was posted and I wanted Agent 34 to come out after this chapter has been posted.
So, Agent 34 will be posted soon. Still finishing up the ending for the first couple of chapters. I didn't want you all to wait too long.
Thanks and Enjoy!
Lydia's POV
I could hear his footsteps as he walked toward me, my back to him and my gaze switching focus between the many files and pictures laid out across the table, and the chessboard.
"What is it about my sister that causes so many people to trust her?" I question when his footsteps come to a stop.
"I don't know," Hayden replies simply.
I briefly tear my gaze away from the table and look over my shoulder at him. "But you should, shouldn't you? What with you and my sister working together behind my back." I get the satisfaction of watching him shift uncomfortably on his feet. "You are a fool if you honestly believed I wouldn't find out."
Hayden says nothing and I turn my attention back to the table. I hear his footsteps as he walks toward me and places something on the table next to me. "She's trustworthy," He says. I stare down at the gold dagger now on the table next to me. I look back up at him. He shrugs. "A deal's a deal."
I pick up the gold dagger and slip it into the belt at my waist. "Does she believe this will keep me off her back for a while?"
"She hopes."
"And no doubt you're still here to talk me out of making a move against her."
"It's not in your best interest," He says as he moves around to the opposite side of the table.
I look up at him. "No? And why's that? Because you and she are all so chummy all of a sudden?"
I see annoyance flash across his face but he knows better than to say anything back to me. I move a piece on the chessboard and go back to staring at the files. "I take it you've told her that I was unhappy with that stunt she pulled against me."
"I did," He confirms.
My anger spikes but I keep it from showing. I keep my face blank, my voice soft, and my temper in check, giving nothing away. "You shouldn't have done that."
