Mia and Crystal walked back to Ever After, the storm had broken up so they could walk in peace. Without thinking Crystal held Mia's hand, Mia looked at her and smiled, she had finally told someone, well that wasn't Cerise or Maddie. Mia didn't let go, she held on to Crystal, just to make sure she wasn't still dreaming.

"You know, it's amazing to see how far you've come if you've been through all that stuff you told me about..." Crystal said.

"Yeah, I may have scars but they taught me how to be strong and not show fear" Mia replied.

They both suddenly heard the shouts of others, they both turned to see Raven, Apple, Cerise, Maddie and two girls Mia didn't recognise run towards them.

"Mia! You're ok!" Cerise said with a sigh of relief.

"Oh thank hex! By the way we forgot to show you to Briar and Ashlynn before" Apple said, she pointed to a girl with brown and pink hair, wearing sunglasses and a girl with ginger hair tied up at the top into a bun.

"Sorry if I scared you guys, I....go out early on weekends and got caught up in the snowstorm" Mia replied, she felt nervous.

"Wait...Mia why are you holding Crystal's hand?" Raven asked.

Mia realised she was still holding Crystal's hand and quickly let go, her face was red but the bandana covered most of it.

"Aww they're both blushing!" Briar said while smiling.

"Well that's hat-tastic!" Maddie said, she tipped her hat and everyone laughed.

"Hey Mia, how come you have your hood up? It's stopped snowing" Raven asked.

"Ummm well," Mia sighed "It's because of this...".

Mia pulled down her hood, took off her bandana and took off her gloves. Everyone but Mia, Cerise, Crystal and Maddie seemed shocked.

"H-How did this?" Ashlynn started.

Mia, put her hood back up and put on her bandana and gloves again, she then told everyone the story, talked a little bit about the circus and then she hesitated.

"Mia? Is there one more thing you haven't told us?" Raven asked.

"Yeah....it's this big thing that's happening in a few months. It's called the tournament of hybrids and I've entered...." Mia looked away from the others "It's dangerous and there have been multiple serious injuries, but...it gets you a lot of respect and you get put in the hybrid hall of fame...." Mia finished and looked back at the others.

"Do you need to do this Mia?" Crystal asked worryingly.

"Yeah, since I was cursed and not born with being a hybrid, I didn't get a lot of respect, but if I enter this then people will finally respect me...." Mia replied.

"We've been talking about this for a while. I'm not sure if this is a good idea..." Cerise said.

"Too late to back out now..." Mia said, her head was held low and she looked embarrassed.

Crystal gently put her hand on Mia's shoulder, Mia looked at her, she was smiling.

"You'll be fine, I promise!" Crystal beamed.

Mia felt a few tears prickle in her eyes, she wiped them and sniffed. Cerise then hugged her and then everyone else joined in, Mia just smiled.

"Hey Apple, Raven,Ashlynn, we better get going, we're gonna be late for the train!" Briar said quickly.

The 4 of them said goodbye and had to quickly run down the street to get to the station. Mia looked at the Hybrid Circus poster again, Crystal noticed Mia's eyes become darker, she quickly ripped of the poster and threw it in the bin before Mia got any worse.

"We don't have to worry about it Mia, your friends are fine! I bet you they're just having fun right now!" Maddie said before she sipped a cup of tea.

Mia smiled and said "I'm gonna go back in the forest to think, don't worry about me..."

She waved and left Crystal, Cerise and Maddie. She quietly walked through the woods, the storm had made it now look like a winter wonderland. It was beautiful, icicles were hanging off trees, the river had been frozen over to create an amazing reflection and-

Mia didn't get to finish that thought as a blast of pain hit her from behind, she tried to turn around but she fell, she couldn't move, her eyesight was slowly fading, the last thing she saw was two large silhouettes and then darkness....
