Tatum's POV

Everything was fading. I couldn't remember what I tried to remember. The stuff they used was stronger, and more painful. "Can you see my memories?" I asked, slumping in my chair. I had no energy left, but I still hadn't given up. I would keep fighting for as long as I could.

"No, that we can't do." The Leader stood in front of me, crouching down to my level. "We can only see how much we're taking away." He beckoned someone over, and they held a knife to my throat.

"What are you doing?" I hissed as the blade pressed into my skin.

"I need you to tell me what you remember," The Leader ordered. "If you don't, you will endure enough torture to make you talk."

I huffed. This was't going to get me anywhere. "Emily and I got a phone call. We were supposed to go on a mission to save this prince. Emily met Asher, and I think she likes him. He definitely likes her, I can tell. And the prince... I can't remember. Everything is fuzzy." I felt like I was supposed to know more about the prince. He was... ugh. I was going to murder these people.

"Good, it's working. Make sure that phone call and everything after it is gone." The Leader left me and these assholes in peace. Well, they were at peace. I was utterly disturbed.

"Relax, love. We'll be done soon." The man that tore up my back stuck the IV thing back into my head, and flipped a switch or whatever he did, and it began.

My head was on fire. It was pounding, and everything around me was blurry. "Stop," I mumbled, shifting in my seat. I had to make it stop.

"I'm going to assume that you already know that we can't do that. We do what we have to do to get what we want. I'm sure you and your friends would do the same."

"Not if it included torturing someone," I muttered.

"I'm not so sure about that. Emily seems to be willing to murder anyone in her path to get you back." His voice was almost taunting. I hated it.

"Don't you dare bring her into this," I growled. "This has nothing to do with her."

"It has everything to do with her," he chuckled. "We're leaving her and everything before the phone call in your memory, and we're counting on her to come rescue you."

"She's not going to go on the same mission without thinking it through. They all know how awful it was last time," I laughed, but the man did not. He looked me directly in the eye, and I knew I was wrong. "You've got to be fucking kidding me."

"All of them are there. They're coming for you. The only problem is that by the time you find them, you'll only remember one of them."

——————————————————————————————————————————

It was gone. I wasn't sure what, but whatever they wanted me to forget, was completely gone. I wanted it back, but I knew better than to ask at this point. I was weaker than I cared to admit, and all they did now was torture me, probably for their own amusement.

"Hello," a voice called. I was in my cell, and would be there all night until someone came to get me in the morning. I heard footsteps, and a boy emerged from the shadows.

He was tall. I mean, I was pretty short, but this guy was tall. Not too bad looking either. His hair was brown, but lighter than mine, and cropped short, but not in that usual fuckboy style. I liked that, it was different.

"Hi." I pushed myself up and limped my way over to him. That was not attractive.

"I'm Ryder," he said carefully.

"Tatum," I replied.

"Nice to meet you, finally. I've been waiting until they were finished with your memory before I came to talk to you," he explained.

"Ah, you're one of them," I muttered. Great, just what I needed. A hot boy my age was working with them. Fantastic.

"Not really," Ryder stuttered, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "I'm just here. To be honest, I'm not really sure what I'm doing."

"Oh." I looked at the floor. "Okay."

"How's your, uh... well, how are you?" He asked.

"I'm okay. Tired, I guess." I shrugged. It seemed I was still a little awkward.

"Right, of course. I'll leave you be. I do hope to see you again though." Ryder gave me a small smile.

"Yeah, me too." I returned his smile, and listened to his footsteps until I couldn't hear them anymore. Maybe this wasn't so bad after all.

A/N: Mynx, "You didn't come this far, just to come this far." I will see you whenever <3
