Darren's view
I broke through the surface of the cooling water just in time to see a beautiful maiden run across the sand. she sat comfortably at the water's edge looking out over the almost, empty black hole, her eyes slowly following the ripples that cascaded through the water.
shockingly she had the urge to jump in, she pulled off her clothing and dove perfectly into the water with ease. My heart jolted when she hit the water, she swam like a seal, diving perfectly in and out of the waves she had created. she was by far the most beautiful being I've ever encountered.
I stumbled upon the shore and tried to gain my balance, failing I fell back into the sand. I wasted no time pulling the shroud from my back finally able to free my human skin. I looked out over the water her blonde hair was not far from shore, I had to do this right. I sprinted up the beach and stopped a few feet from the walkway to bury my shroud deep within the sand.
"Lena! comon let's go home!" someone shouted from the walkway. I stopped covering the hole and ran down the beach hopefully out of sight.
I watched as the man waited until lena, the beautiful maiden, swam ashore. they walked away together somehow oddly similar to one another. I waited until they were out of sight and stumbled my way to the clothing that she left lying in the sand. a bright blue flashing light found its way into my feild of vision, I bent down and picked up the flashing device. it was a small metal and plastic rectangle with a flashing light comming from one side, on the opposite end was a oval button. I clicked the button only to be blinded by the lit up front. I quickly hid the item and dove into the waves when I heard someone running down the walk.
Lena, the maiden. she stopped running just as her toes touched the sand and began to walk casually. she had a beautiful smile across her lips, suddenly she jumped back and looked at her feet. she reached down and pulled from the sand my half hidden shroud. looking around and clutching it to her chest she grabbed her clothing and ran. I was now shroudless, forced to walk on land until it's returned to me or cast into the ocean by it's holder, my maiden.
Lena.
