Lena's view
I stood at the oceans edge, looking out over the vast empty water. a light fog was dancing across the crystal surface making a mirror image. At this time of morning there was a stillness that made it look almost erie, only small waves broke around my feet and retreated back into the sea. it was so calming and beautiful to me. I sat down in the wet sand and pulled off my shoes then my shirt and pants and dove into the still water.
right when I hit the water I felt a sense of security cover me. I felt at home within the soothing waves.
suddenly a flash of light blinds me from the shoreline.
"Lena!" i heard my only and older brother lee call out. " come on let's get home."
I swam my way to shore. after my feet hit the sand my brother threw a towel to me.
"I don't know why you like to swim that far out in open water. don't you get creeped out?" he asked
"no Its calming to me." I said wrapping the towel around me.
"you're weird" he chuckled.
we made our way up onto the always empty boardwalk and started home.
Our parents owned a small surf-shop right in the middle of the boardwalk. we had took the liberty of renovating the two top floors of it to look and feel like a normal house, then the bottom floor was renovated into "Kahuna's: Surf Shop".
When we finally made it to the shop I pulled open the glass door and stepped inside, a blast of cold air covered me making a shiver roll down my spine.
"it's about time you two got home" my mother hollered from behind the register. "where'd you two run off to?"
"out to the water like always" lee said running past me up the long white stair case.
"why didnt you call me?" my mother asked coming out from behind the counter. She was a short lady only about 5'5 with greying, brownish hair. her face was covered in worry lines she had earned over her years.
"my phone! my clothes! I forgot to grab them!" I yelled running back out the glass door.
My feet made a loud thud as I ran back down the boardwalk to the beach. When my feet finally found the sand I stopped running and started walking lazily. I could see my clothes lying just above the tide a few feet away from me. suddenly I stepped on something smooth like leather and jumped back out of instinct. lying nestled in the sand was what looked to be a beautiful leather jacket. I carefully picked it up and shook off all the sand. it was gorgeous, dark brown leather was stretched just right to make a men's sized jacket.
"this is definitely going home with me." I mumbled to myself and clug to it. I grabbed my clothes and jogged my way home, unaware of the presence watching from the dark ocean waves.
