Lena's view
I pulled the shop door open and headed straight for the stairs behind the regesters. burying the beautiful leather jacket under my arm I climbed up the skinny carpeted steps.
Our living room was pretty simple only a couch, tv, and a few surfboards hung up on the wall. the kitchen we had was wide and completly open to the living room, on either side of the kitchen were two doors, one that led up to my room and the other up to Lee's. my parents bedroom was stuck right infront of where the kitchen and living room meet.
I made my way up the stairs that led up to my room. The big mahogany door haulted me to a stop at the top, opening the door I secretly slid in. I took the jacket out from under my arm, letting my eyes study the entire length of the beautiful item. I turned the jacket around in my hands feeling the soft leather. beginning to feel greedy I threw it into my closet.
"Lena it's your turn to help out at the shop today" my father bellowed from the living room.
"I'll be right down." I hollered back.
looking at the jacket one last time I grabbed my work outfit and shut my closet, making sure i locked it. I quickly changed, brushed my hair and put lotion on my cheeks to get rid of the sunburn I always have. as I was about to leave something caught my eye, twinkling on the edge of my bed sat a pearl fresh from the ocean. I gently picked it up into my palm and traced it's perfect edges.
"where did you come from" I cooed softly at the jem in my hand. it suddenly shook, fell onto the floor and rolled toward the closet. It stopped and stuck like a magnet infront of the door refusing to move. I bent down infront of the pearl and tried to pry it off the floor but it refused to budge. I huffed annoyed at the pearl and decided to leave it until my work was done. I cautiously backed out of my room and closed my door free to ease my mind at work.

Darren's view
I followed her until we reached one of the many shops along the walk. she quickly disappeared inside leaving me hesitant about following her. deciding against my better judgement I followed, hiding my presence as best I could. I carefully watched her matching the rhythm of her footsteps up the stairs, then again up a second set until she stopped infront of a huge mahogany door. she slid the door open and creeped inside. i slipped in right behind her back almost hugging her figure.
she stopped in her tracks and pulled my skin from her arms. I stood carefully behind her as she ran her hands over the leathery pelt, I reached slowly towards my shroud right before she tossed it into another, smaller room. I dove under the largest item in the center of the room just as she turned around to listen for someone calling her.
"Lena it's your turn to help out at the shop today" a booming voice called
"I'll be right down." her voice sang like a high soprano shaking me to the core.
at that moment I felt horrible for what I was doing to this girl. I snuck into her home...I was in her private room. I reached into my ripped pocket and pulled a beautiful pearl I had found only a few hours ago.
I reached up and dropped it onto the pelt covered the object I was under.
after a few minutes of watching her tan feet walk back and forth she stopped and approached where I hid.
"where did you come from" she sang quietly.
the pearl suddenly jumped from her hands and rolled to the door which held my skin.
after trying to pry it off she gave up and decided to leave it, as she slipped out I did as well watching her figure close the door.
I turned and looked around the room, a long white surfboard was hung above the huge pelt covered item. I looked over to the pearl on the floor then to the door infront of it. in two long strides I was infront of the door trying to open it.
I pulled on the handle and twisted only to be locked out and kept away from my skin.
should I wait for my maiden to return and forcefully take back my skin? shall I return to the waves and let the enchantment take over us both?
certainly if Lena knew what the enchantment was she would be disgusted and believe it is fake.
I've waited for her as long as I could remember, I wouldn't ruin the only chance I had with her. I wanted to be as my parents were, living on land with a home and being indescribably happy with his human wife.
I decided to confront my problem and wait for her to return, when she did I would tell her everything... who I was, what she held that was mine, and that she was and would always be my wife.
