Chapter 5
Matt's POV
"So how was your day with Carter", my dad asked.
"Good, except for one part. Dad when was the last time you talked to mom", I said.
"Maybe 2 to 3 years ago why", he said.
"I don't that the part where Carter said that mom died of cancer 2 and a half years ago", I said.
"Matt you expect me to know this", he said.
"Why did you leave mom. She needed us. Dad I never got to meet mom and I never will. I wish would have just left me with mom", I said and stormed off to my room.
I just went to sleep when I got into my room. I can't think about what happened. Why did my dad leave mom and my sister? Why couldn't he just leave me with mom?
•••next morning•••
Carter's POV
I get up really early everyday. So I thought that I was the only up. I walked down stairs to make some hot chocolate because I don't like tea or coffee.
After a little bit from being down stairs drinking my hot chocolate I heard someone coming down stairs.
My father walks into the kitchen I'm guessing surprising to see me up. He smiled at me.
"Well good morning Carter, how long have you been up", he said.
"Um I think maybe a half an hour and good morning to you too", I said.
"Your up early", he said.
"This is kinda late for me", I said.
"Really", he asked.
"Well yeah usually I have to get up to help my grandma with things", I said.
"Oh yeah how is your grandma", he asked.
"Not the best but she's getting there", I said.
"So what do you want to do today. I have the day off so we can do what ever", he said.
"I don't care whatever you guys want to do", I said.
"Well I don't know if Matt will want to do anything with me", he said.
"Oh what happened", I asked.
"Nothing he's just a little mad or he was tired last night", he said.
"Okay well I'm gonna get ready for the day and ill be back", I said walking out of the room. I kinda felt. bad was it my fault that Matt was mad at father?
