The Assassin's Bride

Meeting the father/ Shikamaru Awakes.

"For Shikamaru Nara?" Naruto lifted his head and immediately walked over, he was standing next to a man who looked exactly like Shikamaru, minus the scars.

"Who are you?" The doctor pointed to Naruto and Naruto held his hand together.

"He's my boyfriend, please you have to let me see him." Naruto begged and the man next to him had a cigarette in his mouth.

"I'm sorry but..." the doctor was interrupted by the man.

"I'll allow it, he is my sons girlfriend after all." Naruto looked over his shoulder because he was indeed a male but didn't feel like breaching the subject right now.

"Then follow me." The doctor led them down a hall, and opened the door.

"He was lucky, all the stab wounds missed critical spots, they were just shallow, he received stitches and is on morphine for the pain. He should wake soon." Naruto immediately went over to the bed and took Shikamaru's hands.

Shikamaru looked the same, he just looked like he was sleeping. Shikamaru has a breathing masked on and a IV coming from his arm but he looked like he'd be in bed maybe two days tops. Naruto sighed and kissed his cheek.

"Shikamaru you idiot, I thought you went and got yourself killed." Naruto speaks softly forgetting that he wasn't alone.

"You love my son." The man spoke as he watched Naruto.

"I'm sorry I'm so rude. My name is Uzumaki Naruto. Me and Shikamaru have only been dating for three months, but I'm certain that I love your son." Naruto bowed and raised his head.

"I'm Shikaku Nara, you know what he does for a living?" Naruto nodded again.

"Ino-Chan let it slip, but I still continued to see him."

"I'm sure Shikamaru is lucky to have a girl like you." Naruto chuckled and he let his hair out of the ponytail.

"I'm sorry, but I'm 100% male. I'm just one of the rare males that can birth some children." Naruto Said turning his attention back to Shikamaru.

Shikaku hummed and sat on the couch on the other side of the room. Naruto pulled a hard and uncomfortable chair to Shikamaru's bedside and just watched him sleep. He was hoping that Shikamaru was dreaming peacefully, he wanted Shikamaru's dreams to be filled of him.

He found himself dozing off holding Shikamaru's hand. Shikaku noticed and grabbed a blanket and covered Naruto with it. Just as he sat back down, Minato walked in and took a seat next to his best friend.

"Is that your child?" Shikaku asked reading a newspaper, Minato smiled faintly.

"Yes, I just met him today actually, Kushina didn't tell me she had a child." Shikaku nodded.

"He seems to love my son, which is great because Shikamaru is 23 and he needs to have children." Minato clicked his teeth.

"Let them be happy, you don't always have to do with generations before you did. Let's Shikamaru carve his own path." Shikaku finally extinguished the cigarette he was smoking and closed the newspaper.

"I suppose I should."

The night wound down to the day and the Cafe was closed but Naruto still sent a text to Hinata letting her know where he was. He was still sitting in that chair starring at Shikamaru. He was glad somebody gave him a blanket or he would've froze to death. Shikaku walked in and handed Naruto a coffee which he gladly took.

"Thank you." Naruto said softly and Shikaku nodded.

"Your father tells me you own a cafe?" Naruto smiled and he sipped it slowly.
