chapter 9

   I sat in the living room fiddling with my locket as cleo walked in. at first I didnt notice her until she said "you good?" I looked over at her with a smile on my face "damn what the hell happened to you?" I laughed and said "brendon asked me to be his Girlfriend. " cleo screamed and hugged me. Pointing to my necklace she asked "did he give you that? What's in it? Did you open it?" I shook my head realizing I haven't opened it. I took it off my neck and opened it to find a note. I opened the small piece of paper to find the song he sang to me lyrics. I put it back in the locket. "You know what?" I looked at Cleo in confusion. " invite him over! We are cele with your man." I roll my eyes and invite brendon over.

   I opened the door after brendon knocked and magi ran up into his arms. Brendon kissed me and picked magi up petting her. After a quick Yuck from Cleo she told us to sit and she brought out a cake. Brendon read it put loud "HOLY FUCK ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY!?" I nodded and pointed put "well yesterday but it's what ever." He shook his head and started to sing happy birthday with Cleo. I blew out the candle and let them have cake. I scrolled through brendons instagram seeing pictures from our night last night, I didnt even know that he took picture. I scrolled the comments of the one that had us kissing and seeing less and less hate comments. It made me smile. "You notice?" I nodded knowing exactly what brendon was talking about. "What's today?" Cleo looked at brendon when he asked that and said "Sunday, April twentieth." She knew her dates off the top of her head. Suddenly brendon frowned. And sighed. "I'm going to get going, I have- stuff to attend to." He kissed me and hugged cleo and left. Cleo sighed "i was hoping to get to know him." I shrugged and said "next time my love, next time." Me and Cleo ran around the apartment chasing each other like when we were kids.

《A week later》

    Cleo, brendon, and I were sitting on the couch watch mean girls. me sitting between cleo and brendon. Brendon had his arm around me and was twisting my hair around his fingers. After the movie was over he smiled. "Okay. So I have some news. Cleo you can hear if you'd like." She nodded as did I. "Okay, so, next Friday is my last day here. I have to go back to Nevada, and since sun city is a ten hour drive." I nodded looking at my hands that I was fiddling with. "Lilian, I want you to come with me. Cleo your welcome to come as well." Cleo goes pale. And shook her head "I'd love to go, but my life is in sun city. My job and my apartment is here" cleo gets up and walks out of the room. Go to nevada? Ten hours away from sun city? I just got a new job down here, which I guess I forgot to mention to brendon. "Look, you dont have to decide now. And I dont want to pressure you. Or anything, I just. I cant live ten hours away from some one I love with" I sighed. "Bren, look. If I can get transferred down there with my work I will. Yes I got a job, i was going to tell you yesterday but- ya know." He nodded "what is your job?" I looked at him "well more of a career,  I'm a psychiatrist, I went to school for it." He frowned. "I understand, please just let me know as soon as you can?" We both got up and before pulling him in for a kiss I said "I promise ".

   "Is there any way to get transferred? I know I haven't really worked here long, but I might be moving down to Navada." Rosea smiled and looked at her computer "well, the one down there is packed. And cant take on any more, any were close to it is packed as well, so I'm afraid not. I'm sorry Ms Davis. If I could I would." I sighed and nodded "thanks anyways Rosea." She let out a comforting smile and I walked out of her office immediately calling brendon. "Lilian?"
"Hey bren. I'm sorry- I cant get transferred from here. And I would love to move down there but I have no money, there for I cant buy a house, clothes , fo-"
"Hey, hey, look its okay. Were okay. I understand. We can schedule days to come down to see each other, right?"
"Y-yeah."
"We can talk on the phone every day, face time."
"Yeah."
"Lilian I love you so God damn much, and we will make this work."
"Brendon?"
"Yes my love?"
"What if I get a job down there? Just a random job?"
"What about your career?"
"To be honest I just wanted this job as a kid because it pays money."
"Lilian, you dont even need to buy an apartment,  call me crazy but.... you can just live with me."
"A-are you sure?"
"Absolutely."

   I hung up after the "I love you"s and I walked back into Roseas office. "Rosea, forgive me, but I quit." She looked shocked "still friends?" I nodded and gave her my phone number. "I'll be in Navada if you need me." She smiled and as I left said "good luck with him."
