ETHAN POV

"Alright boys one more shot and we can wrap this up" Our manager shouted at us from across the room, clip board in hand, red lips pursed in a slight frown. That was her constant face, Gray and I never knew if she was happy but she continued to work with us so we took that as a positive. We posed and waited for the camera man's cue.

"Okay everyone that's a wrap!" Fernando, the photographer stood up from his crouched position and gave us a big smile. "That was great boys you're gonna love the shots."

We smiled and thanked him and I quickly walked off set to check my phone. Still no response from Emma. It was now nearly 4 pm and I had to assume she was awake and had read my message. I felt my heart sink a little, but tried to hide the disappointment on my face. She was all I could think about from the second I left her apartment this morning. I had even gotten up an hour early just so I could get her the coffee she loved so much. I wished I could've seen the smile on her face when she read my note...at least I hoped it had made her smile. I felt like I had done all the right steps. Brought her coffee, cleaned up a bit just something small to show her I was thinking about her, but maybe I had to accept she just wasn't that into me.

Still, it felt like I was acting on impulse. Did I feel a spark last night or was it just a fleeting moment? There was no way to truly know unless I made the effort to at least pursue the possibility. There were so many thoughts running through my mind once again. I wanted to blame it on lack of sleep, but in reality I knew I had a heart aching crush on one of my best friends.

"Dude, what's up with the look?" Grayson's voice shook me from my thoughts and brought me back to reality. I relaxed my tensed features and tried to return to normalcy.

"It's nothing dude. Just tired. I barely slept last night." I replied, grabbing an apple from the service table. I bit into it carefully, focusing my attention on anything other than having to face my brother. He was my twin after all, there was no emotion or secret I could hide from him.

"Where were you last night anyways? I woke up to get some water and you were gone." He looked at me with a cocked eyebrow and I knew I had once again failed at concealing my emotions from him.

"Oh I just went to Emma's for a little bit just out of boredom. I couldn't sleep and she's always awake super late." I lied through my teeth and hoped he wouldn't press it further.

"Oh okay cool I was a little worried about you bro. Speaking of Emma, do you know if anyone's heard from her? We all blew up her phone earlier, did she respond to the group chat?" He started walking towards the dressing room and I had no choice but to follow.

"Uh I'm not sure, I didn't really check." I lied again. I wasn't going to admit that was the first thing I thought about the second the cameras were off. "She's probably with James or something."

Grayson grabbed his keys and wallet from the table, then tossed my mine. "Yeah you're probably right. So meet you at the house?"

I nodded in agreement and followed him out into the parking lot. I'd meet him there, I just had to make a quick stop first.

EMMA POV

"James please drop it. You're doing my head in." I brought my hand up to face and rubbed my temples. A headache was forming behind my eyes, partly from hunger partly from James insisting Ethan had this enormous crush on me.

He crossed and recrossed his legs, finding it uncomfortable to sit still on my desk chair. "Okay fine. All I'm saying is that maybe you should press him a little further and see if there's something there. Mmmmm Id have no problem pressing into him." He said, staring dreamily at me.

I threw a pillow at him, just nearly missing his face. That was an image I didn't need in my head right now. "Don't be so vulgar!"

He put his arms up in defeat. "I'm just saying. I would have jumped him like a cat by now." We heard the doorbell ring and I looked at him in confusion. "Oh my God is that Ethan?"

"Shut up it's not." I got up from my bed and walked towards the living room. I didn't have the slightest idea who was at the door. "I'm coming" I yelled out.

When I finally reached the front door I surprised to actually find Ethan on the other side. "Showing up unexpectedly at my door again. I hope this isn't gonna become a habit."

"Hey Emma." He smirked at my teasing remark and my heart almost fell out my ass. Fuck he was hot. "I hope it's alright I stopped by. You weren't answering your phone so i just wanted to check up on you."

"Yeah sorry I've been with James all day I've barely looked at my phone. Do you wanna come in?"

He nodded and followed behind me. I was starting to feel that same anxiety again. I tried to casually wipe the sweat from my palms on my legs as we walked. I didn't want to over think it, but wasn't it a little strange for Ethan to be coming around all of a sudden?

It was so awkward. Everything about this moment was pathetic, I didn't know what to say or what to even do with my hands. I felt like I was flailing around like an idiot. All i had was one simple task- walk from the front door into my apartment and I couldn't even do that. I wanted to smack myself in the face.

I tried to smile, "James is in my room we're just hanging out, not really doing anything."

He nodded. Was that a "no shit he's in your room you just mentioned earlier that you were with him" kind of nod? Holy shit why was I analyzing everything?

"I hope you liked the coffee. I tried my best to get the order right." Ethan said, sheepishly. He scratched the back of his head, scanning the room not wanting to meet my eyes.

"Oh shit. Yes thank you, E. I loved it." I couldn't believe my dumbass forgot to say thanks. Could this get any fucking worse.

This is why I would never have a boyfriend.

(Sorry for the short filler chapter!! I'll be adding more very soon xx)
