Deaths are something that no human can forget. We just have to accept it and move on. There is nothing else we can do to make ourselves alive again.

But the problem is, it is easier said than done. It's unusual to have a person with you all day, all year and suddenly he or she is not there anymore.

Just like that.

They just disappear from your life like they were never there in the first place. You are only left with faint memories of them and the moments you spend together. Bitter or sweet that's all you have.

When Manik got the news of his parent's death in an accident he was devastated. He just couldn't believe it.

He had everything he wanted one second and in the next it all disappeared like ashes.

Nandini knew what Manik was going through but was helpless. He just kept it all inside, hiding his pain from the world. But he couldn't hide it from Nandini.

Manik stood still, his gaze not leaving his parents grave. It was all so difficult for him.

"Manik..." Cabir said gently squeezing his arm.

He didn't move. His eyes showed no emotions whatsoever. He hadn't even shed a tear since the news. He seemed to be zoned out to an altogether different world all day.

Nandini looked at Cabir with hope in her eyes but it soon disappeared seeing him dejected.

"He didn't speak." Cabir shook his head sadly, disheartening Nandini.

"I'll go talk to him." Nandini said, determined.

"Nandini, he needs space. This is all too much for him to handle." Cabir whispered.

She slowly nodded.

Nandini made her way towards Manik, timidly. She took a deep breath before gathering courage to face him.

She quietly stood besides him lacing his fingers with that of hers. He made no moment of acknowledgement.

It broke Nandini to see him so emotionless. He could atleast shed a tear. He had to know that he couldn't just pile up the sorrow and misery in his heart until it couldn't take the pain anymore resulting in scenario Nandini didn't wanted to imagine.

Nandini's heart sank seeing Manik so broken and lost.

They both just stood there grieving, ignoring all those sympathetic faces that always reminded Manik of his loss.

He stayed in his trance till the priest called him for further rituals.

He steped forward slowly unwinding their laced fingers.

In that moment Nandini knew she lost him but refused to give up. It was like Manik's parents weren't the only people they lost in that accident.

A part of Manik died too.

"Manik, kuch kha lo." Nandini entered his room to find him sitting in a far corner.

"Mujhe bhuk nahi." He replied, blankly.

"Manik, talk to me please. I can't see you like this." Nandini pleaded.

"Leave me alone." He said, soft yet firm.

"Please Manik. Atleast-" She began but stopped seeing Manik's rising temper.

"I said, Leave. Me. Alone." He said dangerously slow.

"No! I am not leaving until you tell me what's going on your mind." Nandini was determined to make Manik talk. She couldn't see him destroy his life.

"What do you want to hear Nandini?" He looked over to her was the first time.

"That I am lost. That I don't know what I am doing anymore." His voice cracked and Nandini embraced him. Tears rolled down his cheek as he cried his heart out.

"That yesterday I had everything and today, see I'm an orphan. What do you want to know." He broke completely.

"Manik..." she said rubbing his back as he cried like a baby in her arms.

"Nandini. I- " he began but trailed off.

"Shhh..I'm here." She whispered and held him whole night in her arms until he cried himself to sleep.

"We are sorry to announce that flight number 249A London is delayed by an hour due to rough weather conditions. Kindly co-operate. Thank you." The announcement brought Nandini out of her thoughts. She quickly wiped her tears and blocked out her thoughts about him.

They only hurt her more. She wanted out from here. From his memories. They were like slow poision. They were torturing her slowly bit by bit.
She was afraid these memories will stay with her forever.

Will she ever be able to move on?

She sighed checking the time and opened a novel to past time.

"It's gonna take a while." She whispered shaking her head in disbelief.
