The Lost Rose [COMPLETE]

Nine: Beach Day

-2 months later-

Rose P.O.V

It's been two months since that night, the night my dad went to jail. Over the two months, I've gotten closer to the gang, and we also met some new people! Jenny and Brian, Jenny is an old friend from the siblings childhood and they reunited. Brian is a really good friend with Lin, and he's also gay! Our friend group is growing and we're all growing closer to each other.

Especially me and Dan.

Dan and I have gotten a lot closer ever since that night. He's been way more protective over me, especially when other guys talk to me, not in a flirty way but just- rude I guess. Either way I feel safe whenever I'm with him, he's so caring towards me, he's more caring than anyone else in the group actually, they still care but it's more when it comes to Dan. We're practically best friends now. Maybe we'll be more than that even...

The gang talked about going to the beach, they asked me to go and I agreed.

"We're here!" I heard Ben say. I lifted my head up and saw it, the beautiful beach. I pressed my face up against the window. "I've never seen anything like this in my whole life!" I said.

-1 hour later-

We got everyone set up and we were all just relaxing, I was sitting down building a sand castle, childish, I know, but it makes me happy and calm.

I noticed Dan walking over to me, I looked up at him. "Hi Dan." I said sweetly, "Hey Rose." He bent down to my level, "That's a nice sand castle you built! Probably better than I can do."  I giggled. "Wanna have a castle competition?" He looked off to the water. "Nah, I was thinking that we could actually go for a swim," he grabbed my wrist and pulled me up. I almost fell, and he caught me. We looked up at each other and blushed a bit.

"Hey lovebirds wanna swim or not?" Ben kicked water at us. "Oh you're on!" I ran toward him with my bucket full of water. "Oh no!" He started to run around in the water and I was chasing him, soon enough Dan followed along with us and we were all chasing each other and laughing!

Ben had gone back to the rest of the group and it was just me and Dan splashing each other in the water. I was giggling a lot and he was chuckling. Then we both stopped and I looked at the sunset that was over the water. I was amazed...

"W-wow... It's so beautiful..." I saw Dan look at it too. "Not as beautiful as you though." I heard him say. I felt my face heat up a bit, then I giggled, then I sighed. Without realizing, I moved closer to Dan and laid my head on his shoulder...

When it finally got dark, we all got in the car and went home, Jenny and Sushi were up front listening to twenty one pilots, while Ben had his earbuds in the seat that me and Dan were on, and Brian and Lin were in the far back of the car sleeping,

"This was one of the best days of my life so far..." I said quietly. Then I fell asleep, but on Dan's shoulder again...

I felt so happy.
