Pain Filled Torture

Chapter 4

Sam's POV

Our eyes were locked & we started to lean in. I was about to pull away because of the promise I made but Colby pulled me into the kiss. I kissed back instantly & our lips were moving in sync. Everything was perfect until Brinlee came back into the living room.

"DADDY! YOU LIED TO ME!" She screamed as she started to cry. She ran back to her room & shut her door. Fuck.

"Oh God. Brinlee." He mumbled.

"I should probably get going." I said standing up Colby grabbed my wrist.

"No its fine. But I need to talk to her. Don't leave. Please." I nodded sitting back down. He walked into her bedroom & I could hear her sobbing. I always fuck up.

Colby's POV

I really messed up. I should've thought of Brinlee before I kissed Sam. We were just caught up in the moment. I walked back into her bedroom & she was crying in her bedroom holding the stuffed bear Brennen got her a few weeks ago.

"You lied. You said nobody would replace Dad! You said he wasn't replacing Dad! You lied to me Daddy!" She sobbed out loudly. This broke my heart. Brinlee isn't one to cry often.

"Brin, let me explain. Okay?" She nodded. I sat next to her. "Sam isn't replacing your Dad. I promise! I don't break pinkie promises & you know that. If you want the 100% truth I can tell you."

"Why are you cheating on Dad?" She whispered. "Is that why you've been fighting?" I froze. I didn't know she heard us fight. If she was home we waited till she was in bed.

"You know about that?" She nodded.

"Dad would talk on the phone with Mr. Bradlee on the way to school about you guys fighting a lot." Of course he did. I sighed.

"Brinlee its time you know the truth. Your Dad & I had problems. A lot of them. We fought a lot. So when we went away it was to try to fix them. But he said he wanted to split up. So we live separate & share you. But sweetie I can't give you up. Then he decided he wanted to stay out there. So I came back so I can spend time with you." She cried more.

"So I don't have both Dads anymore?"

"Sweetie you'll ALWAYS have 2 dads. Always. No matter what anybody says. We raised you to know where you came from & where you come from is 2 fathers."

"But if Dad isn't here then how do I have 2?"

"Because even though your Dad isn't here he loves you. I'm here & I love you. Sam is here & I'm sure he'll love you once he gets to know you." She giggled.

"So you kissed Sam because you love him?" She asked.

"Brin, thats a complicated subject. Theres a lot about Sam I can't tell you. Even alot that I don't know." I sighed. She smiled at me. "Want to come watch a movie in the living room?" She cheered yes so I carried her out to the living room. I sat her on the couch next to Sam. He smiled at me.

"Can we watch Lady in the Tramp Daddy!?" She asked excitedly as I walked towards the movies.

"If you want to." I grabbed it & put it in. She was watching the movie & Sam wanted to know what happened. I told him I'd tell him later. We ordered pizza for dinner. After we ate Brinlee fell asleep during our 3rd movie which was Lion King. I smiled at her & carried her to her bed. I layed her down & kissed her forehead. I walked out closing the light & door. I walked back into the room Sam was cleaning up our plates from dinner & putting the left over pizza in the fridge.
