Pain Filled Torture

Chapter 6

Brennen's POV

Ever since what happened I've been watching over Brinlee. When she found out I was gone she broke. I want to strangle Colby for not selling out Sam. Maybe I can sell him out. I watched as Sam layed my daughter in her bed when they got to the house. I then watched him sit with Colby. Obviously it didn't take to long for Colby to fall asleep on Sam's shoulder. I decided to mess around a bit. I'm now in human form but unable to be seen. A ghost if you will. I walked into the kitchen & started knocking things down.

"What's the hell?" I heard Sam mumble. I walked over to the bathroom door & started opening it & slamming it shut. Then I realized what I did. I heard Brinlee crying. Dammit. Sam got up quickly but careful not to wake Colby & went to her. "Hey. Your okay. Everything's fine." he whispered soothingly. She wrapped her arms around his neck & he carried her out to the couch & sat with her. He was rubbing her back as she lightly shook from her sobs. I decided to rub her back myself as well. Her body jolted lightly when my hand touched her. That means she felt me touch her.

"Brin can you hear me?" I said. She didn't react. Okay so she can't hear me. Great.

Sams POV

That was really weird. Brinlee was back asleep again so I took her back to her room again & went back to Colby. I picked him up & put him in his bed. I went back out & sat in the living room. I feel like everything might be okay.

~4 Years Later~

So not much has been happening lately. They ruled Brennens case as a suicide & arrested some random guy for hiding the body. Colby & I started dating officially 2 years ago. I was laying in bed as Colby slept. Something wasn't right. I could feel it. Soon Brinlee came in the room.

"What wrong Brinlee?" I asked her staying quiet because Colby was asleep.

"I don't feel good." She said. I got out of bed & felt her forehead I couldn't tell if she felt warm or if my hand was cold.

"Come on I'll check your temperature yeah?"

"Okay." We walked into the kitchen & I sat her on the counter while I went to get the thermometer. I put it in her her mouth (A/N: Get y'alls minds outta the gutter). It beeped not to long after. 99.9.

"Well Ms. Brinlee you're sick." I said putting the thermometer back.

"I could've told you that Sam." She said. I laughed.

"Do you know what your temperature is?" I asked her.

"No." She sighed in defeat.

"Okay. Now you have 3 options. Lay out here on the couch. Go back into your bedroom. Or come lay in bed with me & your daddy." She thought for a second but I had a feeling I know where she'll want to go.

"Can I lay with you & daddy?"

"Yeah. I'll put on a movie in there for you but we have to stay quiet cause your daddy is asleep." She nodded as I took her off the counter. Even though she's already 12 she's still really attached to Colby. I don't think she'll be one of the kids who goes out & does drugs anytime soon either. She's just a sweetheart. I put on a movie she wanted to watch & layed with her. She feel asleep about half way through so I turned it off & finally went to sleep myself.

~Hours Later~

I woke up to Colby moving around. I just rolled on my side not wanting to be awake. I soon heard Brinlee's door then I felt Colby get back into bed. I had a feeling he wasn't gonna go back to sleep. So I rolled over to face him. He was already facing me but his eyes were closed. I slowly moved forward & kissed him lightly on the lips. He instantly reacted by grabbing my cheeks & straddling me. I pulled away from the kiss & smiled at Colby.
