A few weeks pass and Safi is unable to come up with some excuse to see Eman, the man in her dreams. She continues with her clinical rounds hoping he'll eventually make his way to the general pediatric ward. However, her hopes start to dwindle.
"Safi, what's wrong? You've been a little down lately.." Dr. Motts pulls Safiya aside with a concerned tone. Safi shakes her head and sighs, but Dr. Motts would not take no for an answer.
"Safiya, we've been working together for a bit now. Something is bothering you. I need you to tell me. Maybe you'll feel better if you talk about it" Dr. Motts says with hopeful eyes.
"I'm still having that dream with the guy I bumped into the other, except now I can actually see his face in the dream. I can't help but wonder if he has some sort of purpose in my life and that's why I dream about him or if it's just some fluke." Safi sighs again, feeling stupid for worrying about such a thing. Dr. Motts laughs and gives Safi a hug. She then pulls Safi into one of the elevators.
"Where are we going?" Safi asks confused. Dr. Motts just grins and pushes the elevator button for the psych ward. Safi ponders for a moment and then gasps. She tries to escape but Dr. Motts grabs her and gives her a look that says "you're going to see this man whether you like it or not".
The elevator reaches the psych ward and Safi goes into full panic mode. What was she even going to say to him? Hey, how you doing, by the way I've had dreams about you? She couldn't do that, then SHE would be admitted to the psych ward. Dr. Motts leads her to the front desk area.
"Hi, we're looking for a certain doctor in your ward? He's tall, dark-skinned with the voice of God Himself?" Dr. Motts smiles at the nurse at the desk. The nurse giggles and points down the hallway.
"You must be asking about Dr. Kalu, the resident here. He's down the hall in one of the interview play rooms with a patient right now."
"Thanks so much! Let's go Safi." Dr. Motts exclaims pulling Safi down the hallway. Safi starts to feel really uneasy.
"Dr. Motts, are you sure about this. What if he doesn't even remember me?" Safi questions with an uneasy voice. Dr. Motts scoffs and they arrive at one of the interview rooms.
"There he is Safi. It's now or never. Don't come back without a first date set. Love you!" Dr. Motts teases, dashing away before Safi could stop her. Now Safi was standing alone in the hallway. Only a wall kept her and this man apart. Should she approach him or just run away? She takes a moment to think about when all of a sudden the door opens.
"Hey, it's you from that last time." Safi freezes...
