The distance felt very real since that little accident. I could tell Bakugo wasn't as comfortable as I hoped he would be. I tried to push it behind us but he wouldn't budge, our trainings were less focused and short. To me, that fall was really embarrassing and thrilling, he just didn't know how to feel about it. I decided to take a small walk around with Yayorozu to clear my head. She didn't think anything of the fall and was only worried for our safety which I appreciated. She was laughing about something to herself. We had already took 5 laps around the dorm hallways until I could break her happy conversation, "Hey Yayo?" She eagerly stopped cheering and turned her eyes toward me,
"Yes Kiri?"
"You remember a few days ago when Bakugo tripped and stumbled back and..yeah.." I kinda gave up on it. She took it in after a while and nodded slowly,
"I do, why? Did something else happen?"
"No, no..It's just..- the situation of how it all ended seemed to push him farther away from me. I wouldn't say he's scared but he's definitely kinda confused about something." I was hoping for a bit of advice. Yayorozu didn't know everything about Bakugo but at least she was fresh with his actions before Kiu died.
"Confused?" She looked away from me for a minute, slowly placing her feet down the stairs as I followed, "From his point of view, I can see that. You have to understand how weird it must look to be on the bottom." She couldn't help but giggle, "But out of most respect, are you asking me for some help on it?" She turned her head back to me. I nodded,
"Everything is so distant and I hate it, we were just making progress and if he doesn't train today, everything is going way down the hill of progress, down to the ditch of giving up." She understood my concern. She placed a hand on my shoulder,
"Then remind him why he's doing this. I don't care if you have to say it a thousand times, he needs to understand how important this is and just because of one little embarrassing trip shouldn't stop anything." Her words were strong and could knock a whole wall down. I can see why she would be a great leader and hero, "Make him feel important, make him feel strong and maybe you should do some hand to hand combat more. It will make him feel good, let him see how strong he can get. Let him bleed, let him bruise, he needs this from you. Don't let him down Kiri."
Words so strong they could make millions of peoples's jaw shut and stay shut forever, I was glad she was so brave like this. I could only nod but she knew I understood, "I will take your words to heart, thanks Yayo." She smiled the same as me, removing her hand from my shoulder to look forward again,
"Now." She stopped right in front of Bakugo's door, "Let's start." She scooted her feet back a bit for a open space to walk to the door. I looked to her once more, "I'm counting on you." She glared lightly, gesturing her hand to the door. I chuckled, taking a hold of the handle. I pulled the door open, peering inside.
He stood in the same part as always , right by the desk, admiring the view ever since our little scene that night. I hummed quietly, waiting for him to notice. His head tilted a bit like he tried to remember the sound from somewhere. "You still owe me that dance."
He sighs in a small voice, "Yeah, I guess I do.." I let go of the handle, leaving a bit of space between the doorframe and door.
"Join me out in the gym." His head lifted, barely looking over his shoulder,
"It's almost -10 out there." I wasn't gonna deal with excuses,
"I was just thinking, I thought we should do some hand to hand stuff more." That definitely caught his attention,
