I checked my watch, it was 8:29am, the bell was due to ring in a minute. That meant, as it was my first day and I had to see the principle, I had one bloody minute to get to an office, which I had no clue as to its whereabouts. Shit. That's awesome. Ok I had to ask someone. I instinctively turned to the nearest person to me. It was just my luck wasn't it. There, leaning against the wall, was the fucking same chick I had asked about the vending machine and she, as per usual I assumed, was staring daggers at anyone who passed her in the hall.
"Yep, absolutely not." I muttered to myself softly.
I dodged her quickly with a ankle breaking turn and turned to the opposite wall on which was a boy. He seemed ok. I walked over to him.
"Hi there, I'm Ellie, I'm new. I'm looking for your principle's office I'm suppose to be there in less than a minute." This time being genuinely myself.
"Luke, nice to meet you Ellie." He extended his hand, I shook it. He was tall, really tall, with blonde hair and a lip ring. He gave off an air of a lay back and cool person.
"His office is just down 1 floor and is first door on your right. I won't stop to chat with ya cause that man keeps a tight schedule, but I hope I get to talk to you again soon Ellie." He said sharing a warm smile with me.
"Thank you so much, same goes for you." I grinned back.
"See you round" he waved goodbye. I took off at a run keeping in mind Lukes warning of the Principal's tight schedule. Just as Luke said, I found the office just in time and knocked.
"Enter."
A brisk voice came from the other side of the door, slightly muffled through the wood. With a deep breath, I pushed open the door to the most prestigious and uptight looking man and office I had ever seen."Ha-hello I'm Ellie." I said stammering slightly, still astonished at this man and his choice of decor. He was as stiff as a rod, and had oily black hair. He was dressed in a pin stripped suit, small wired glasses and I was almost 100% certain that if I could see his shoes they would be as polished and his hairless chin. As for his office, it was perfectly organised and neat. Not a speck of dust in sight. On the top right hand corner of his deep brown, wooden desk sat an enormous bottle of hand sanatizer.
"Ahh a germophobe, I'll have fun with that." I thought.
On the top left hand corner sat a brown and golden plark reading Principal Donald Larrington.
"Good morning Ellie, I am Mr Larrington and I am the principal of this school you have been inducted into. Sydney State High." He had a sharp, deep voice. It almost perfectly suited the stereotypical private school principal perfectly.
"Lovely to meet your sir!" I exclaimed extending my hand, predicting the response. After eyeing my hand hesitantly Mr Larrington shook my hand however, for no longer than a second before withdrawing his hand quickly and pumping a generous amount of sanitizer into his hands. I'm smirked broadly.
"Now, down to business. All the maps and rules are situated in your school diary including your, ahem," He cleated his throat loudly. "Dress code." He emphasised this heavily, and getting the hint I quickly removed my hat, swiping it from my head.
He looked sternly up at me through his wired glasses. Gulping I stared intently back.
"Here is your timetable, it has your classes, the rooms and on the back," He flipped over the piece of paper, "Is a student who I requested look after you and help you settle during your first term. You'll find that he is in almost all of your classes and is a charming boy. I'm sure you will get on fine." He gave me a wink which he obviously thought was friendly but instead just looked down right perverted. In response I produced a sound mixed between a cough, hiccup, laugh and 'hmmmm' sound. He looked taken aback. I coughed a few times to cover it.
