November

She's already here before you notice her
She comes bearing nothing that she already hasn't given away,
she comes slowly as if afraid
or as if she stayed too long in the corners of her bed,
trapped willingly in all those blankets and sheets,
all that softness she had to give up,
and now, she is deliberly having a bed hair to show you what can be expected for the time she's here
Sometimes, you mix up the dates of your meetings
but she doesn't mind,
you send her a late message coming up with the excuses,
reasons to not celebrate her in all her becoming,
which is always forgetfulness,
which is really not caring enough
You once told her a tale of burning hot summer,
that heavy air of high noons
and she fell easily in love with it,
you make her fall easily in love with literally anything
She wears silk blouses, leather jackets and word 'sorry' written on the inside of her lip,
she is the very epitome of blurred photographs and petrichor scented candles
No one ever told her that being late is forgivable so she makes sure to be there an hour earlier
just in case,
which is to say, her time here is fleeting,
her shade is framed with glossy late mornings
and her rains are ever so occasional
deep-rooted and heavy,
so to leave a mark on every roof,
every wooden bench on soft ground,
to drown every thirsty soul on the horizont
She wears her hair tied up in uncertainty and good news hanging off her earlobes,
she puts orange and bronze eyeshadows to respect the colour of , as she said , scrunched up pieces of a mess covering the hard forest ground,
the cracked lonely walls, fresh tangerines and decayed branches,
by that she meant, that this colour right here, it goes perfectly well with her freckled skin,
by that she meant, look, look at me
wait

I've got chocolate coffee fogged glass wet fingertips sun blessed days, where you can wear your favourite boots with your favourite dress
I've got warmth hidden in the most unexpected places
I've got so much to offer and so much to give
wait
listen

By the time you turn around, Christmas lights are up
and she's already gone..
