Author Note:

Okay, so I am going to have 'you' be called [Y/N] for your first name, and [L/N] for your last name with some other things thrown in (like [H/C] for hair color and [E/C] for eye color) but I'll tell you those as they come up. But I'm going to write in 1st person so, for example, I would write 'I am scared' instead of 'You are scared', just because that's how I'm used to writing. Sorry again, but this is my first X Reader, so just be prepared for it to suck.

I sit in the carriage, staring out at the woods. The fabric of my clothing is a warm brown and feels very different from what I normally wear. I have to admit, I like this more. Normally I have to wear stiff, annoying puffy dresses that seem to either show too much or show too little by covering all available skin with stiffy, itchy fabric. I yawn, my arms going under my head, my eyelids drooping.

I wake up to screams. My eyes open quickly, the metallic stench of blood flooding into my nostrils. I attempt to sit up, but the carriage suddenly tips, I chock back a scream as the carriage falls over onto its side. I land, pain ringing through my joints. I look up at the other door, and I desperately shove at the door, and it snaps open, I clamber out, and my eyes widen as I see armed guards fighting with men in black, fear thrums through my veins.

One of the guards breaks away, toward me.

"Princess! Come with me! Quickly!" he shouts gruffly, grabbing onto my arm, and dragging me off into the forest, I desperately run to keep up with him. The branches and thistles scraping away at my clothes and skin. The burn of my muscles seems to drown out everything else.

An arrow flies past me, burying into the guards back. I can't help myself, I scream. He drops, blood gushing out of the wound, I hesitate for a second, and another arrow zips past my cheek, a small trickle of blood slides down my cheek,

"RUN!" the guard orders sharps, I turn and run. I shove through the growth, ignoring the scratches on my arms and skin.

"Come back here~" a cold voice purrs, barely more than a few feet behind me. I desperately sprint forward.

My foot catches on a root, and I tumble to the ground with a tiny yelp. I push at the soft warm dirt to keep moving, but a hand wraps around my hair, jerking me back.

I scream, and a knife comes up to my neck, and I flinch away from the cold steel.

"You know princess, MAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNYYYYYYY people would pay a very pretty penny to have this pretty little neck slit," the man purrs, his ranid breath next to my ear.

I shiver in terror in disgust.

"Why would they want that?" I snap, "I haven't even done anything!" I shout.

It's true, I have many ideas, but I can't implement them until I'm actually crowned. I've told my father them before, but they've always been shot down... I literally haven't been able to do anything to affect my own kingdom.

He giggles,

"Aww, little princess. That doesn't matter. You represent the kingdom, so anyone who dislikes the kingdom wants you dead," he explains, before giggling, "though I don't really care," he adds, pressing the blade closer to my neck. I flinch as a drop of blood slides down my neck.

I do something stupid in desperation, I shove my elbow back into his stomach, his grip on my hair loosening. I rush forward, desperately trying to escape.

"COME BACK HERE YOU LITTLE BITCH!" I hear him shout, I keep running, fear and adrenaline keeping me moving forward.

After a minute or two, I ram into someone. I tumble backward. I look up, terrified. The man looks down at me, the two different eyes tones watching me sharply. He holds a long scythe. I swallow. I hear the other man crush through the brush,
