Author's POV
Sameeksha got kicked by someone and fell on the ground, "yeh kya tareeka hai uthane ka?" She asked Bandana, her best friend.Bandana rolled her sleeves up, "Headquarters jaa rhi hu, Kabir ko tayaar karke school bhej dio" She said and picked her bag.
Sameeksha rubbed her eyes and went to get ready.
Bandana sat in her car and left for NSO Headquarters.

Sameeksha dropped Kabir in his school and was about to sit in the car when her phone rang, it was Sumedh, the Sub-Inspector that worked under her.
"Pohonch rhi hu Sumedh" She said, "Ma'am, case aaya hai" Sumedh said. "Crime scene ka address bhej aur vahi mil" She said and hung up.
She reached Madh Island Beach in no time.
"Madam" Constable Shetty ran to her, "kya hua hai?" Sameeksha asked, "murder" Shetty replied.
She started walking to the crime scene while wearing her gloves.
Sumedh saluted her, "Ma'am kal raat murder hua" He said, "body ko post mortem ke liye bheja hua hai".
Sameeksha nodded.
"Koi suspect?" She asked, "nhi Ma'am" He replied, "witness?" She asked, "ho Madam" Shetty replied.
"Cricketer hai Madam" He said, "cricketer??" She asked taking her sunglasses off.
They nodded.
"Police station bulao zara" She said while looking around the crime scene.
Sumedh dialled the number, "Ma'am" He said giving her the phone.
"ACP Sameeksha Sinha, Maharashtra Police" She said, "M...Manjot Kalra" The witness said gathering some courage.
"Mr Kalra aap ek murder case ke witness hai, aapko Police Station aana hoga statement dene ke liye" She said.
"Ma'am...actually me shaam ko Delhi jaa raha hu, international match hai. Abhi aa sakta hu?" He asked.
"Abhi to..." She started thinking as she had an important meeting with DCP Rana.
"Okay, aa jaaiye. And please, dariye mat. Jo dekha hai bas woh batana hai aapko" She said and hung up.
"Abhi me DCP Rana se milne jaa rhi hu" She said to Sumedh and Shetty.
"To Madam statement?" Shetty asked, "Bandana le legi, me usko bulati hu" She replied.
"Ma'am aap ek baar Bandana Ma'am se pooch lijiye, woh busy na ho" Sumedh said.
"Kaash woh kabhi kisi ke saath busy ho, ladko se to door bhaagti hai, busy kaha hogi?" Sameeksha chuckled.
*******
Bandana walked in Sameeksha's office and took a seat in front of the witness.
"Jai Hind Madam" Shetty saluted her.
Almost everyone working for Sameeksha knew Bandana as she used to visit the office quite often.
Manjot was amazed by Bandana's style of walking in the office and was already thinking about ways to woo her.
Bandana hated guys wearing ear studs, unfortunately, Manjot was one of them.
"Yeh chomu kon hai?" She asked looking at Manjot.
"Excuse me?" He asked, "yeh gentleman kon hai?" She corrected herself.
"Yeh witness hai Madam, inka hi statement lena hai" Shetty replied.
He gave her a paper with all the questions she had to ask Manjot.
"So..." She took a deep breath and read the first question, "what's your name?" She asked.
"Excuse me?" He asked as he didn't expect someone to not know who he was, "kucch aur bolna aata hai?" She asked.
He sighed, "Manjot Kalra" He replied. "Kya karte ho?" She asked writing down his name, "seriously?" He chuckled, she looked up.
"Me apna sab kaam chodke yaha aai hu. Sharafat se har sawaal ka jawaab dete raho" She said.
Manjot looked at Shetty, who signed him to cooperate. Shetty was aware of Bandana's short tempered nature.
"Cricketer hu, National Level pe" Manjot said. Bandana let out a chuckle, "kya ho gaya hai BCCI ko? Kese logo ko rakhne lag gey hai" She said.
"Dekhiye" Manjot raised his voice, "Mr National Level cricketer, awaaz ka volume neeche rakhke baat karo" She said calmly.
"Ab batao, kya hua tha uss raat" She asked.
"Ek second. Aapne uniform kyu nhi pehni?" He asked, "kyu ki me ACP Sameeksha nhi hu. Uski jagah pe yaha tumhara statement lene aai hu" She replied.
"Me statement nhi dunga fir. Me sirf ACP Sameeksha se baat karunga" He said.
"Black Cats ka naam suna hai?" She asked leaning back on the chair, "ermm...vahi jo raasta kaat'ti hai?" He replied.
"Nope. Vahi jo insaano ko kaat'ti hai" She smiled.
"Matlab?" He asked confused, "National Security Officers? NSO? Commandos?" She asked giving him all the synonyms she knew for her profession.
"Haan haan, commandos!! Suna hai boht dangerous hote hai. Shakk hote hi goli maar dete hai" He said looking at Bandana and Shetty.
"Right. Vahi hu me" She replied.
He was numb for a couple of moments, "questions poochiye please" He replied. "Good! Samajhdaar ho" Bandana smiled.
"Me aur mera teammate Abhishek Sharma ek birthday party se laut rahe the" Manjot started, "kiski birthday party?" Bandana interrupted, "Shubman Gill, hamara dusra teammate" He replied.
"Carry on" She said writing down what he was saying.
"Abhishek ne pi rakhi thi, ham dono me se kisi ek ko drive karna tha to mene nhi pi. Vapas jaate hamne Madh Island beach ke pass car roki" He said, "ek second" Bandana interrupted him again.
"Car rokne ki vajah?" She questioned, "woh me nhi bata sakta" He said looking down.
"Batate ho ya..." Bandana said, "itna to me jaanta hu ke aap mujhe torture nhi kar sakti" He said confidently.
"By God, nanga karke itna maarungi na, ek ek detail bataoge fir" She said loosing her cool. "Mujhe nanga dekhne ke lie maarne ka bahane kyu chahiye? Ese hi kapde utaar deta hu" He replied with a smirk.
It was the first time ever someone was talking to Bandana like that. Manjot was Sameeksha's witness, she knew she wasn't allowed to torture him.
"Yeh jo police ki third degree hai na, woh NSO ke torture me last rank pe bhi nhi aati. Isse andaaza lagalo ke agar me peetne pe aai to kaha kaha kitna maarungi" She said.
"Ab batao kyu ruke the waha!" She raised her voice.
"Woh...Abhishek ko bathroom...jaana tha...hamne socha sunsaan jagah hai, vahi kahi kar lega" Manjot said embarassed.
Bandana rolled her eyes, "yeh hai Desh ke jaane maane cricketers" Bandana said to Shetty.
