Graceland - September 13, 2863.
Hux was relaxing in the central outpost, lounged back in his chair with his feet propped up on the table as usual... he had found a sort of peace in running his beloved Graceland from the set of outposts, technically ruling over the hilltop town from the valley that housed his main base.
Caught up in his pride, he continued to relax to the sounds of KTRO as he listened to his radio, which was playing songs made by people like Bing Crosby and Freddie Slack. One round of 'that man's got two left hands' later, and his peace would be ultimately interrupted by news brought in from the rest of the outposts by a corporal who came running into the central outpost...
"Captain! CAPTAIN! News from the Fifth Graceland Corps, response is expected ASAP!" The corporal said as he brought up a flash drive to plug into a port beneath one of the monitors. Hux, clearly annoyed by his broken peace, looked at the message he got anyways... over 15 soldiers were killed in a combat situation that had to be resolved as soon as possible, and they needed his assistance. Hux hopped into an antigravity jeep, and barked an order to his subordinates to take him to the combat area.
The bodies of 15 soldiers seemed to be scattered around the area, as they had run into something large... in this case, it was an otherworldly beast, similar in appearance to a rotted deathclaw, that was scared off for now - but it would be set to make a return with a larger force to kill off the rest of the Imperials in Graceland. Hux, scanning the area, paid his respects to the 15 fallen in the area, looking around for any more evidence of the beast's attack on the unit that was here. Traces of somewhat alien DNA seemed to linger on the site of the attacks, and so those were collected and studied on-site to find a lead on what caused the 15 casualties.
While scientists were still on-site, Hux looked around for anything that led to the beast itself. He wound up running into a follower of the beast, who was clad in a black robe and red and black clothing that made him look like a vampire hunter...
"You! You're the creator of this so-called 'Graceland'..." The robed figure spoke menacingly as he slowly approached Hux, who was thinking of going for his energy pistol and shooting him between the eyes. "Your nation has left behind a legacy of nothing but imperialism! Don't you see what you've done...? Once the beast your people have forced into hiding returns with backup, America will be forced onto its knees!" The robed figure continued, as Hux's expression went from surprised to completely engulfed with rage. Trying to contain his uncontrollable fury, Hux asked in a strained voice... "...Now that I have your motive, may I ask for your name?"
The robed figure pulled back his hood to reveal a face that seemed to make him look like Edward from Twilight, with the exception of a scar on his left eye. There was blood in the corner of his lower lip... it wasn't regular blood, but rather black blood. "Arturius... now, captain. If you go as far as to even think of laying another hand or energy beam on these beasts, your nation will be bound to fall. These beasts are just here to teach your kind a lesson on why it shouldn't be touching land that is not meant to be disturbed."
Hux now felt like he could throw a good, hard punch at Arturius' head. He just sneered at the man, and walked away in order to spare himself from possibly having his soul ripped from his body. However, now he was set on proving Arturius wrong on his claims... he wanted to kill off the beasts in any way he could. He hungered for the death of these beasts at American hands, and he wanted it done as quickly as possible.
As Hux walked back to his jeep, a officer who seemed to be a clone of Haruko Haruhara walked up to him from a nearby on-site research station. She was clad in a black uniform, with white shoulder pads and minimalist features. "What's wrong, captain...? Something on your mind?"
"Agh... there's this one guy that's been pissing me off over there by the site. Someone who looked like one of those vampire hunters from modern-day dramas, yet he looked like he had quite some power... a man named Arturius. He said something about the beast being payback against our nation's actions, and that he promises to make Temporal America fall..." Hux let it out quietly enough for only him and the Haruko clone to hear.
"Why not wait for the beasts to return? That way, we can find out where they're coming from via energy signatures, and hit 'em at the source!" The Haruko clone sounded optimistic about the outcome. Of course, this may be a good solution, but either way, it meant war between Temporal America and Arturius' beasts. Hux thought of who could actually be leading the beasts, and who could be sending them to the forests near Graceland.
"Hm... I think I can actually take that advice. You know, I feel people like you are the reason why I can get through most of my military career... you know?" Hux told this to the Haruko clone that was there to console him in his time of stress. "Hmhm! Always happy to help," the Haruko clone replied with a beaming smile on her face. Such a jovial expression like that brought joy to young Hux's heart and soul.
Hux would wait half an hour before he grouped some of his top-tier commanders to have the Imperials set up camp on the site of the attacks. "You three, get your soldiers to establish some outposts near the attacking area. We're taking those damned beasts head on, and this time we're giving them everything we got!" Hux barked to the commanders in order to have them get a move on and increase their morale a bit.
The procedure of setting up various outposts and stationing more Imperial troops there was accompanied with the serenades of the military band's 'Riego Procedural' as a way to get them going. One by one, more soldiers appeared at the ultimate command of Hux at the site, as they were just 12,000 out of over 2.5 Graham's counts that comprised the Imperial military. With 34 million digits of soldiers at their disposal, the Imperial military's numbers and firepower were highly superior at that count, as they also had advanced technology to match.
From then on, Hux had a smug, almost arrogant smile that was purposely meant to get a reaction out of Arturius if he ever came by. He watched as more soldiers were preparing for a possible attack by more of the beasts, arming themselves with the firepower needed to possibly kill as many beasts as they needed.
