Lucian fell victim to the cannon's blast, howling in pain as the matter that comprised him was being slowly destroyed at the molecular level. A weapon bearing this kind of power would be able to either absorb and collect souls and the supernatural, or wipe spirits from existence via extrasensory molecular destruction. Temporal America had managed to create technology that could tame and control the supernatural - and kill it off, if the need arose. Hux's forehead was still dripping with sweat beads, with some of the sweat dripping onto the weapon. He held the trigger down, seeing what was happening to Lucian as he was being spiritually annihilated.
The sharp, hard-hitting pain triggered Lucian to try and get Hux to stop what he was doing through assuming the forms of his family, friends, and even people he loved, having the fabricated images of them melt away graphically or appear to rapidly decay in an attempt to make him stop... but Hux knew the difference between what was genuine and what was false. Having no mercy for the demon of insanity, Hux inched closer with the weapon, turning a few dials on the sides in order to increase its energy output.
"Please...! You... you don't know what you're doing! If you kill me, you'll upset the balance of this world as you know it! You'll upset the demons who dwell the realm I hail from! Your nation and humankind will not be able to overcome the revenge they will vow, they will not hesitate to begin claiming the lives of many...! You will regret this action in the meantime, captain... I beg your mercy, stop this cruelty!" Lucian, now sounding desperate, cried out for mercy as Hux still attempted to kill him with the Spirit-2. However, Hux wasn't having it... he's had one too many things try to permanently weaken and damage his unit, bearing an expression of anger and annoyance on his face.
"...I have had enough of your crap. You think I give a shit? Go ahead, lie there, and cry for help while you're at it... I've had too many people like you try to fuck with my unit and weaken the military force I proudly serve! If you won't live with that, you may as well not live at all!"
Hux further increased the energy output on the Spirit-2, allowing more of Lucian to be wiped from existence. Otherworldly, distorted howls were heard coming from the dying Lucian as more of him continued to be annihilated until he was merely a thin cloud of black dust. Some of the dust seemed to hit Hux, who had breathed some in on accident...
"...Finally." Hux tossed the Spirit-2 cannon on the floor near his feet, knowing that he had gotten rid of Lucian. He took some time in the room he killed Lucian in to recover, wiping some sweat beads off of his forehead. He wiped off some black dust that formerly comprised Lucian, looking at it on his glove and wiping it on the table where it would smear. He looked at the black dust as it began to phase out, signifying that Lucian was truly dead... or so it seemed. Hux wouldn't notice it, but something began to manifest within him...
A spec-ops officer came into the room to find Hux recovering from the encounter with Lucian. Taking off the helmet, the face of a Haruhi Suzumiya genedrive was revealed as she walked over to the recovering colonel. "Colonel...? Is anything okay?" the genedrive would ask Hux, who was clutching his head lightly with his gloved right hand.
"It... it's fine. Anything new pop up on the main computer?" Hux replied back - apparently, he felt a sort of small pain in his head. He must have thought it was a possible aneurysm coming in from his onset of rage and his lashing out at the demon of insanity, but what he didn't know what that a part of Lucian seemed to be living inside him now... like a parasite, it began to feed on his sanity. "We're approaching a forested planet. It appears to be a planet identified as East Wind, should we send a boarding crew there to survey the area?" the Haruhi genedrive asked again. Hux simply nodded as a confirmation to do so, knowing that he's been going places and virtually doing the same thing for 14 years.
During his return to the bridge, Hux heard a faint laughing in his head - he thought he may have been going crazy, although he was truly beginning to, now that a part of Lucian settled inside him through some of his dust and life force being inhaled. He watched as the ISV Aeon was approaching East Wind, a planet that was part of a system of four, which surrounded a pair of twin suns.
He looked back at where the captain's yacht would seem to be, as it emerged from a lower level of the ship. It rose on a platform, showing a polished metal finish and American flag decals on the sides, along with the yacht's registration and name: the Gadsden. The small, yet mighty Gadsden could be seen a minute away behind where Hux stood, as he continued to watch his view of the ship hovering above East Wind. "Captain Hux, your yacht is ready for the exploration of this world. This world has a high percentage of breathable air, you should do fine down there," one of his officers said to him as he walked over to the Gadsden.
"Yes... yes. Perhaps, maybe I sense something on this planet that can be worth keeping for America. Something of great power and potential... I can sense its aura. But just what is it coming from?" Hux mused to himself, seemingly narrating his thoughts and putting himself in a daze as he walked up to his yacht. He was asked if he was okay, but he shrugged it off, looking to explore this world like the others he had gone on.
...And so the officers began to think: something must have been wrong with Hux.
