Suffocated by his words
Breathing becomes a struggle
Actions forcefully tighten
Around your throat
No real scars
Tears held back
Rest in your throat
Every breath more
Painful
Than the last
You want to slip and fall
Into the abyss
The place you know well
Fall into "you did this to yourself"
You are choosing to love him
Like Eve chose to bite the apple
You chose to share your secrets
Like Sampson chose to tell Delilah
How could you foresee
He would be your undoing
You've heard it's not your fault
People try to remind you
The one who suffocates you
His words coil and constrict
Around your neck
You finally try to believe
It wasn't you
And you attempt to come up for air
But alas
The boulder you almost got uphill
The "it's not your faults"
"It's okay to ask for helps"
The open arms
All fall back on you
You surrendered the forbidden fruit
You gave away the hidden treasure
But it's not what you think
It's the L for lies protected
The O that overpowers your logic
The V, vines coiling around your heart
The E,because everyone likes to know
To understand, to help
But do you deserve it?
