Josh's POV
Ring...Ring...Ring
Ugh, who the heck is calling me at this time?! I try to fade back into my dreamland, but the ringing doesn't stop.
I reluctantly open my eyes and groggily reach for my phone in the dark. The caller is marked as UNKNOWN so I debate answering it or just going back to sleep. I knew I never got calls at this time of night, so something tells me to answer the phone call.
"Hello?" I answer in sleep riddled voice.
"Josh? Sorry to call so late, but Bailee isn't in her bed and isn't answering her phone. Is she with you?"
I begin to sit up as I hear the panic in Bailee's mom's voice.
"Uh no Ms. Marshal... I haven't seen her since the party."
Fuck! I wasn't supposed to mention the party. Damn you, sleepy conscious!
"The PARTY?! What the hell are you talking about Josh?!" I wince at the anger in her voice and begin to answer.
"Well uh, we actually went to this party after you went to sleep. DON'T WORRY though because we didn't drink or anything, we were just there to have fun. Lorenzo dropped Bailee and I off at Buckley and she was perfectly fine."
"Wait... so you mean to tell me my daughter snuck out of the house to go to a party with a random boy?! Who's this Lorenzo guy and WHERES my daughter Josh?"
I begin to get nervous with the questions she asks. I'm not sure what Bailee would want me to say in this situation, so I try to calm Ms. Marshal down the best I can.
"Lorenzo is the Grandson of Marco and he's just a friend of Bailees. And I wish I can answer that question, but I don't know where Bailee is."
I begin to worry. If Bailees not home, then where is she? Maybe she just met up with Lorenzo after I went home so they could finish that "conversation" they were having upstairs.
Before Ms. Marshal can curse me out again, I quickly tell her the thought I just had.
"Don't freak out. Maybe she's just with Lorenzo right now and everything's fine. I'm positive she'll be home later today." I say sort of confidently. I mean, Im actually not positive if she'll be home later but I just want to ease Ms. Marshals mind.
"Yeah she better be home later! If you hear from her or this Lorenzo character, then contact me right away!" She says furiously, yet the worry in her voice not going away.
"Of course I will Ms. Marshal. Have a good night."
"Mhm, you too Josh." She responds dryly, hanging up the phone right after.
I don't know where you are Bailee, but you better come home. I try to remain hopeful and turn on my beside lamp to wake up. I definitely can't sleep anymore tonight. All I keep repeating to myself is "She'll come home."
She didn't come home that day. Or after the months that followed...
Bailee's POV
Darkness. Everywhere I looked was filled with darkness.
I lift my head up from the concrete floor it was currently laying on. Ouch, my head is pounding. I touch my forehead to see where that pains coming from and feel a liquid coat my fingers. My heart begins to hammer in my chest as I realize the liquid coming from my head is blood.
I try to stand up in order to run away from whatever this is, but there's something keeping me from it.
I pull on my left arm and feel that its connected to a pipe by a chain. I begin to panic as my fight or flight responses kick in, casing me to pull on the chain furiously. Sadly, this does no good and only makes my head begin to throb harder.
Okay... think Bailee. Where are you? What happened last night?....
THE PARTY!
I remember the party, I remember Lorenzo, and I remember the incident that occurred. What happened after that though? I got dropped off at Buckley's with Josh...I waited for Josh to leave, and I went to my car.
What happened after that?!
I begin to tremble as the worst thoughts course through my brain.
Am I dreaming?
No, because this feels way to real to be a dream.
Was I raped?!
No... I'm not feeling pain anywhere other than my head...
Was I kidnapped?!
Fuck. I was definitely kidnapped....
What do I do?! What CAN I do?
I can't see a single thing in this room and I'm chained to what feels like a wall by a pipe.
I begin to use my other sense to try and pinpoint my location.
Sound. There's only silence in the room that I am entrapped in.
Smell. I can only smell the mold that is being caused by water seepage somewhere in this room.
Taste. My mouth is extremely dry, most likely caused by the lack of hydration in my system.
Touch. I begin to feel my surroundings for any clues on how to escape. It seems as though my wrist is actually handcuffed to the chain and the chain is secured around the pipe by a lock giving me a tiny bit of movement capability.
There is nothing else around me besides the cold concrete floor I'm sitting on the concrete wall I'm leaning against.
My heart begins to beat ten times faster as I realize there's no escape for me.
I start to hyperventilate with the anticipation of what's going to happen when the person that kidnapped me shows themselves. My head starts spinning as my breathing gets faster and faster, before I ultimately pass out from the stress.
