A Krismas Eve Kiss

Chapter 2

We walk into Kneading Sugar and find our favorite spot, the corner. It has fairy lights all over the wall on one side and a big comfy couch on the other. The place is packed today probably because they started selling their seasonal drinks again.

"What do you want this time?" Noelle asks me.

"It's ok, you got our order last time, what do you want, the usual?"

"Chocolate frosted donut with sprinkles and an iced coffee.", we say at the same time. We both get the same thing. Their donuts are the best! I walk to the register, "Hey Anna!"

"Oh hey Ivy! What can I get you girls today?"

"We'll take two chocolate frosted donuts with sprinkles and two iced coffees."

"Alright your total is $6.38." I reach for my wallet when the bell on the door rings, signifying someone has come in. I pull out the money, hand it to Anna, and head back to the couch. When I notice Noelle is blushing. Oh boy here we go, "Mr. Hot Stuff" came in. I take a seat next to her.

"I guess that's him?", I whisper.

"Gosh, he's hotter in person!"

"Chill out Noelle! How many times do I have to remind you, you're taken!"

Giggling she responds, "not for long!" She stands up and heads toward him.

"Noelle what are you doing, sit down!", I whisper yell to her, but it comes out louder than I thought, because he looks right at me and smiles. Oh my gosh. I wonder if he thinks she's going up there for me now...that's not good.

A minute or two pass by before she comes back. "What did you say to him!"

"Oh, that I go to college here, because you know he doesn't know that I know EVERYTHING about him already. He's super sweet and his eyes are the prettiest blue I've ever seen..."

"That's great! But I'm pretty sure he thought that you went for me because I "whispered" really loud at you as you got up. He looked right at me and smiled!", I say sounding panicked.

"Trust me I was enchanting enough for him to forget his little moment with you," she winks at me.

I giggle, "That makes me feel a little better. So what's his name anyway?"

"Kris Holliday"

"He sounds too cliché for you.", I say chuckling.

Laughing she responds with "No you're just mad that within seconds he forgot who you-

"Excuse me, my name is Kris. I happened to see you at the register and it looked like you knew what you were set on ordering. Do you have any suggestions?"

I blink, and then I realize my mouth is open...oops "Uhhh, yeahhh. Yoou should order the latte iced donut and the frosted with sprinkles." He looks at me confused. "Oh...I mean you should get the chocolate donut with sprinkles and an iced latte, they're really good." Oh my gosh! Tell me that did not just happen.

"Thank you," he says, smiling. "Ohh I didn't catch your name."

"My name is Ivy..."

"Nice to meet you Ivy.", he says smiling. His teeth are straight and white, like in movies, they would glisten. His eyes are as blue as the sea. His face is clean shaven and soft...wait how do I know that...I don't, nevermind. He's dressed in a sweater and jeans. His jacket and his scarf look just as good on him. I wonder if he's taken? I mean I don't date normally but how can I resist someone who's as show-stopping hot as him. I wonder if...

"Iiivvy...", it's Noelle.

"Hmm.."

"You've been staring at him for like 5 minutes. You better be glad I said goodbye for you." I blink.

"What?! How long was he here while I was spacing out?!"

"After you said you're name, I took you're sign of "girl code" and I said it was nice to meet him too, then he walked away."

"Oh my gosh..."

The door jingles and he walks out. She starts cracking up laughing. She's laughing at my idiotic moment! I still have to handle my audition today!

"Man, you're so entertaining," she says barely breathing between laughs.

"Oh shut up! You love me either way and I SWEAR if you tell anyone what just happened I will see that you're boyfriend finds out that...I don't even know yet, but I'll figure it out!", I say giggling. Laughing helps me ease the stress I just went through.

We leave the shop after I stress ate my donut and downed my coffee. We head back to the dorm and I grab my bag with my sheet music and my water.

"Good luck! And remember You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! You got this girl!"

"Thanks Noelle!"

I walk to the Arts Department and head for the choir room. I find my friends Candy and Emma.

"Hey! You all excited or nervous for this audition?", Candy says.

"Well, I feel pretty good about it, I think I decided on singing..." I start to go on but someone just walked in...Kris...Holliday.
