Gion's Backstory (Prince Series Untold)

Re-bonding

After he saw Gion already calm, he walk towards him to talk with him. "Prince Gion, are you okay?"

Gion shock to see Livio already standing in front him all of the sudden. He silent, don't know what to reply. But then Livio sit beside him and continue speaking, "I know who am I, I know my status in this family, but at the same time I'm your friend, don't you remember?" Livio tried to make Gion remember their past.

Before this three of them were friends. They always spent a lot of time together. Sometimes Gion tried to make an excuse to join them. But after that incident happened, their relationship started to change. Gion always treated Livio as personal bodyguard and not as friend,and he always stopped Gina from being too close with some people. His behavior changes 360° make Gina and Livio feels uncomfortable with him sometimes.

Livio realize that Gion still didn't say anything. He hold Gion's hand and continue talking. "Did you need some time? Or..." he stopped talking. He worried if it makes Gion feel more worse, but he afraid if it's true. But then he choose to said it. "Or... Are you didn't accept me as your friend anymore?"

Gion shock to heard that. He don't know how to deny it. He didn't want his relationship with Livio end just like that, but when he remembered again what his grandfather told him, it makes him feel more guilty. He only look into Livio's eyes, hope that he have courage to said it. Livio understand from Gion's action, he actually wants to said it but at the same time he worried about something. Same with when he met Gion for the first time.

"A chi parla poco, gli basta la metà del cervello (English equivalent: 'least said, soonest mended')." said Gion. He think it's better to not let anyone know grandpa's true self and everything will be fine.

On the evening, Gion decided to meet Gina in her room. "Gina, this is me, Gion." he knock the door but no one answered. Without call her name for a second time, he went to her room. He saw Gina busy using computer.

"Gina, I have something to tell you."

"And so do I." said Gina. She didn't look at Gion's face while talking to him, but Gion didn't her. "Did you talk to father about that?" asked him. "No, not yet." said her, short. She still busy searching for something and refuse to focus on Gion.

"First of all, I'm really sorry of what's happened this morning." said Gion. He feel guilty to raise his voice to her. "And second?" ask her. Gion look at her face, he don't know how to stop her bring her friends to her birthday party. But then he said it. "I... hope you didn't bring your friends to the birthday party."

"No, I refuse." Gina still mad at him. Gion can't stay any longer, choose to leave her alone but it doesn't mean he will let Gina find out his grandfather's true self.

At night, while the family enjoy their dinner Gina speak. "Um... Dad?"

"What's the matter, darling?" said king. He didn't show any signs of bad mood or something make Gina sure it's the perfect time to ask. "I want to ask about my birthday party this Saturday."

Before she continue, she look at Gion. Gion clearly did not agree with her decision but she ignore him. "I..."

"Dio mio, Gion!!" They were surprised when grandfather suddenly looked worried. Gina realized Gion was accidentally dropped his knife and it stabed his left leg. Everyone panicked, father ordered maids to bring him to the car and send him to the clinic nearby.

Gina don't know how to react. She shocked and confused at the same time. Did Gion do it on purpose? Did he want to stop her? She only can keep silent and let the question hang without an answer.

Because of that, Gion can't go anywhere. Livio need to accompany him, so he will not go to school until Gion is okay.

"I'm sorry." said Gion. Livio take the plate and put it on the tray. "Sorry for what?" said him.

"Because of me, you can't come to school." Gion feels guilty. He feels sorry when he makes other people's job hard. But he don't want his grandfather talk about status. It will be better if only him know his grandfather's true self. He don't want Gina to hate her own family especially her grandfather.

All day long, Gion and Livio talking to feel the loneliness. While they enjoying the conversation, Gina come in to the room.

"Hi, Gina." said Gion. He smiled at her. Gina walked toward him and cry. Livio try to make her feel better even though he don't know what happened. Gina then looked at Gion and said, "I'm sorry..."

"For what?" asked Gion. He don't know why she suddenly cry,but he hope that she didn't know the truth about her grandfather.

"I'm sorry for everything. My behavior, my distress... And... " before she continued her sentence, Gion stop her. He hold her face and said with a slow voice. "If you want to apologize because of yesterday, I already forgive you. But why you need to cry?"

"I know you tried to stop me from tell father about my request. But why you need to hurt yourself?" ask Gina. Gion don't know how to answer her question.

"Gina..." he called her name. Gina looked deeply into his brother's eyes, hoping that her brother will tell her. "Maybe it's my fault to not spent time with you like before. So you always feel curious on what happened to me all this time. I only have one thing to tell you. No matter what happens, I will protect you with all my might. I can't let you get into trouble like me. So, please... Hear my advice." Gion can't hold himself anymore. He shed into tears, his views started to blurry. He can't even look at his sister clearly because or his tears.

Even though Livio can't understand what's happening, he also shed a tear, but he hide it. He came back with a box of tissues. "I bought some tissues." They stop crying after they realize that they are not alone in the room and quickly take a tissue.
