十二 ; Shí èr

Mark groaned, hiding his face from his friends. The friends exchanged worried looks, Mark hadn't looked at them for the whole day.

Don't even get them started with Donghyuck who ran away from everyone but Renjun,

"Mark.. what's wrong?" Chenle asked, patting his friend's back.

"I'm fine," He muffled, briefly.

Renjun clearly wasn't happy with the way his friend was acting, he was worried and he also had Donghyuck to deal with,

"Mark, if there's something bothering you, you can tell us," Renjun said,

"I'm fine," Mark simply repeated, his tone showing his annoyance as a warning to leave him alone.

Renjun was irked. He was annoyed in fact. He had two idiots to deal with and both of them weren't cooperating at all. He felt like some father dealing with his spoiled brats.

"Everything will be fine, just don't worry!" Chenle tried to reassure Mark but it only irritated him.

He finally lifted his head up, "How is this fine?!" He asked, pulling the hood off his head to reveal the flower, in full bloom, sitting on his head which had its stem and leaves wrapped around his ears,

The group of friends fell silent at Mark's sudden raise in volume.

He put his hoodie back on, not wanting anyone else to see it.

"Donghyuck has been avoiding me too," He whined sadly, he prioritised Donghyuck before himself. He was actually much more sadder about the problem.

Mark stood up from his seat, his face still hidden to his friends. "I'll be leaving early," He added before he walked away from the table, staring at the ground as he walked.

That was when he bumped into someone, falling to the ground.

"Hey! Watch—" Mark lifted his gaze from the ground as soon as he heard Donghyuck's voice.

Donghyuck only stared at him, his eyes widened in surprise.

The scene of their kiss popped into their minds which made Donghyuck even more embarrassed.

He picked himself up from the ground and ran towards the opposite direction.

Mark stammered to his feet, hoping to catch up with Donghyuck who was almost in his reach.

"Donghyuck!" Mark called out, stopping the younger one as he took his hand.

Donghyuck ripped his hand out of Mark's grip. "J-Just stay away!" Donghyuck hollered,

"Why are you still doing this?!" Mark asked, gasping for air.

"We literally ki—" Donghyuck immediately dived towards Mark, shutting his mouth and pushing him into the closest room, which was the nurse's office.

"Don't you know what to shut up about?!" Donghyuck asked, pushing Mark towards the ground and locking the door behind them.

"No! Because you're treating me like shit!" Mark replied,

"Lower your volume..!" Donghyuck shushed the male, his anger almost reaching its peak.

"I won't until you tell me why!" Mark yelled, rebelling against Donghyuck's simple orders.

"Because I don't know too!" Donghyuck replied, hoping Mark would shut up.

Mark was confused. "What..?" He asked, much softer this time.

"I just.. don't know why I need you so badly," Donghyuck replied, feeling terrible for mistreating Mark for weeks.

Mark's heart skipped a beat at his reason.

"And it makes me mad that I don't have answers!" Donghyuck added, all his frustration being let out in his yells, even if he was the one who asked Mark to be quiet.

Mark stood up from the ground slowly walking towards Donghyuck,

Donghyuck ran into Mark's arms, listening to his escalating heartbeat. "Mark, I'm sorry," He apologised.

Mark hugged him back, happy to have him in his arms.

"I know I shouldn't have treated you like that.." Donghyuck looked into Mark's eyes with a pout.

Mark smiled, finding Donghyuck's pout the most adorable thing ever. He cupped his cheek.

"I just didn't know what to do with my feelings so I stayed away from—"
"Donghyuck, it's fine," Mark smiled gently, caressing his cheek.

"It's okay," He reassured, leaning in closer to Donghyuck.

Donghyuck stood there, his eyes slowly shut as he waited for Mark's lips on his.

Suddenly,

"Hello? Who's in there?" The two directed their attention towards the door which interrupted them.

"O-Oh—"
"Donghyuck?" Donghyuck looked back at Mark to have his lips meet Mark's.

Mark's hands snaked around Donghyuck's waist and kissed him.

Donghyuck was caught off guard but he decided to savour the moment. His placed his hands around Mark's neck to deepen the kiss.

The flower began to grow rapidly, the stem travelled from his ears and down the back of his neck, flower buds appearing as it grew.

He felt Mark's smile as he kissed him which caused him to smile as well.

Donghyuck pulled away, admiring the man in front of his eyes. "I—"

They were interrupted when they heard the door being unlocked.

"Shit..!" Mark cussed softly, he saw the window nearby and dashed towards it. They were lucky they were on the ground floor.

He opened the window, "After you,"

Donghyuck didn't hesitate to climb out the window, he extended his hand for Mark to take.

Mark took his hand and climbed out the window as well and pulled Donghyuck behind him as they ran away from the scene with giggles.

It felt like their own fairytale.
