As Azura shot at a shadow-elk, she hoisted it to her right shoulder and trudged through the lava pit back to her hometown, Stonedale. When Azura got to the town gate, she was stopped by one of the town's demons, Clay. He was sixteen and had black curly hair swept up into a quiff, and chocolate chip colored eyes.
"So you've got a shadow-elk, I see." Clay mocked, having a desire for venison in his eyes. Azura had fallen for his tricks too many times already. She wasn't going to let that happen again.
"I know what you're trying to do," Azura exclaimed, "you're gonna try to fool me and force me to give you my shadow-elk."
Clay smirked, "Who says I'm going to steal it from you?"Azura despised him. He always took all of her hard work away and credited himself for it. She had to say something or she would look dumb."Out of all my fourteen years in the Underworld, you were always making fun and taking things from me." Clay still had the menacing grin on his face.
"Give it. We both know what'll happen otherwise." Azura didn't want to admit or tell anyone, but Clay was a bully to her her whole life just because she was a Storm Demon. A Storm Demon could be powerful with their electric volts of rage, but they were very rare.
Azura clenched her fists, infuriated. "Can you just leave me alone for once?" she screamed, wishing she could cut his feathery wings off."Now what fun would there be if I didn't?" Clay taunted, succeeding in intimidating Azura.
"I said, leave me ALONE!!" She could barely keep her emotions hidden at this point, and she knew he was already getting his way, just by showing she was mad. Clay pretended to look surprised. "Wow, I didn't know you could snap like that. DO you need time to calm down before having a fit?" He sneered at her.
Okay, Azura, calm down. You don't need him getting on your nerves, she thought. A solution suddenly popped into her head. Just walk away and ignore what Clay says, Azura reasoned to herself. She strolled down the wall and headed to the back gates, although she would have to go through the Guardian's territory.
Clay was shocked that she didn't respond. As usual, he made a comeback that Azura cursed at under her breath.
"Well, um..." he trailed off but spit words out like arrows right after, "You're so mad, I know for a fact you are. I can see the red steam blowing out of your ears." he ridiculed at the comment he had made.
Azura had to bite her tongue to keep herself from screaming at the top of her lungs although, despite her anger, she kept quiet.
Since Azura got through the back gates of Stonedale, she had to find out a way to go around Guardian Territory. Well, she thought to herself, maybe I could sneak over to the blacksmith shop and secretly pass by. No, no, that won't work. That's too far over. Just book it, but act natural."I'll need a cloak." she assured herself. Azura, conveniently, had a cloak on for hunting.
As she fast-walked down the dirt roads, she began to notice that the Guardians started to stare at her with no emotion. Are they trying to intimidate me or what? If they are, it's working. ..oh no. do they notice I'm not a Guardian but instead a demon? Oh no.... Azura started to freak out because of her imagination. The only reason they stared at her was because her beautiful wings were showing from her cloak. Guardians rarely had such magnificent and glorious wings. One stopped her to compliment, "Your wings are the most stunning wings I've ever seen!"
She said one word, and one word only, "Thanks." Azura couldn't believe what had just occurred.
