Dishevelled, groggy, and irritant were the only words an onlooker could use to describe Hermione Granger the next morning.

But lovely, brilliant, and charming were the only words Draco could use to describe the witty witch.

The one and only astute Hermione Jean Granger herself,  was Draco's golden ticket to freedom.

Well from the lingering, longing glances he'd been on the receiving half of from several females he'd never, in his wildest nightmares, would ever come into close proximity with.

Besides, though the blonde was too proud to admit it, Draco had always had a small soft spot for the petite witch. He'd always found their constant bickering enjoyable. She was most likely the only female almost a foot shorter than him who would openly insult and threaten the arrogant wizard. For that he'd silently admired the captivating witch from a far, the bushy hair really grew on him.

He remembered in fourth year, Draco almost asked her to the Yule Ball. But he was a Slytherin for a reason; he lacked the courage. Draco had shook it off, shortly after he heard rumors of her going with Victor Krum. She would have picked him over you anyway. You were the one who tormented her for years, not him. Draco just managed to convince himself of this fully when she walked down the staircase in that
dress. He recalled wishing he'd have plucked up the smallest string of courage to at least ask her. Even if he had been rejected, at least Draco would be able to think to himself at least I tried. But no, Draco Malfoy was a coward and would forever remain one.

He was optimistic though. Draco would be fake courting her and he tried his best to convince himself that this was enough. Take what you can get, mate

Draco looked up from his uneaten breakfast to the Gryffindor table.

He felt ill. And each time he lifted his blonde, slightly over grown haired head, his stomach would trapize, at Hermione's brilliance or in realization of his now daily task, Draco didn't know.

Hermione smiled weakly at him, making Draco realize he was staring. Quickly looking away, he masked his emotions with an indifferent face. He would have to conceal his true feelings for Hermione especially since she was only in on the deal to get Ron off her tail.

Hermione tilted her head towards the doors, signalling that they would begin their 'relationship' soon after breakfast.

He nodded mutely in reply. Draco's head was spinning, he had to help Hermione though.

Draco waited patiently, anxiously. All the hairs on his body stood up and every nerve seemed to sense everything.

Draco had to stop himself from jumping up immediately as Hermione stood gracefully and swept out of the Great Hall.

After waiting several moments, Draco too, left the Great Hall following her, less gracefully, in suit.

As soon as he left the doorway he was pulled into the corridor's corner. Pinned up against the wall, Draco stopped Hermione from letting their lips meet.

"Tsk, tsk, he smirked in order to hide his surprised and flustered state,"In order to reveal a relationship, couple must be out in the open, Granger."

She instantly became irritant.

"It's Hermione first of all, she paused looking around, "and second, you want to be in the middle of the corridor snogging?"
