Once is an accident, twice is coincidence, third time is a pattern , fourth time is..?

When your whole family has their backs turned to you, who can you trust?
Where is the safe place to hide when you need consoling and comforting? When your friend isn't there when you need them the most and you can't rely on your family, who's shoulder can you cry on?

Slap!

The sharp sound echoed through the room as Tin closed his eyes feeling the sting on his cheek.

"You ungrateful brat! How can you even say we haven't done anything to you? You have a roof to sleep under, you have food on the table and we even payed for your college and this is how you repay us?" His mother spat, her face turning red from anger.

"Don't worry i'll move out after i graduate anyway then i won't be a nuisance to you anymore." Tin said standing up and walking out of the house

He sat inside his car and rested his head on the steering wheel trying to calm down. After a while he started the engine nand drove off to somewhere without any particular place in mind.

Tin actually wanted to kick and scream his guts out. He wanted to cry and yell out the pain inside his heart but instead he felt he was becoming more numb day by day.

He felt like he was soon about to lose himself is something didn't come and change the dead circle he was in every day. He needed a change in his life and he needed it quickly.

--

Tin finally stopped his car in a quiet neighbourhood and decided to take stroll in the park to clear his mind.

He scooped his phone from the back pocket and once again dialled Pete's number.

"Hey i hope i didn't disturb or anything." Tin said scratching the back of his head.

"No, what's up Tin?" Pete anwsered from the other side.

"Listen uh, can i stay at your place tonight? I really don't feel like going home today."

"Why is there something wrong," Pete paused for a second before he spoke again. "It's P'Tul isn't it?"

"Well him and to be honest everyone, i feel like i'll suffocate if i stay there any longer."

"Where are you by the way at the moment?"

"I'm sitting at this park but no you don't have to come i'll just-"

"No, tell me the adress i want to talk to you." Pete insisted

"Okay fine." Tin gave up and told him the adress.

--

They were now both sitting on the park bench and Tin told Pete everything that happened earlier while the other listened carefully.

Every time something like this happened, Pete would sit down with him and let the other spill everything that was on his mind.

Tin sighed and rested his head on the bench.

"Do you have any idea how many times i've asked myself why? Why are they treating me like this, is there something wrong with me? Why are they treating me like i don't even belong in the family."

"Hey now it's not your fault okay, you have nothing to blame yourself for. Pardon for saying but they're assholes, once you graduate i'm sure things would get better. Just hang in there for a while."
