"Where the hell have you been?!"
A broken wine glass lay on the floor, blood red pooling around it staining the wood floor.
"I was at the library with a friend, jeez." I pulled at my backpack, feeling the absence of books.
"Like hell, you fucking fag."
Tears pulled at my eyes, threatening to give me away.
"Don't call me that". I couldn't find my breath, it had already left me, my hands began to shake.
"What did you say!?!" She picked up the glass wine bottle, and threw it at me, barely missing my head.
" I said, " I wipe the tears away, my face burning, "Dont call me that."
"What are you gonna do about it, little bitch?" Her body swayed and face contorted with drunken anger.
I knew to stay quite, just let her tire her self out. But then the tears start to roll down her face, my mothers breathing, loud and gasping.
"Why?! Why do you have to be like this?!" I could barely understand her words, but I heard them.
I wipe away my own flood of tears, and turn silently towards my room.
