The Young Mate

Chapter 3

Ella's POV

"Feeling any better?" One of the pack warriors asked me as I arrived in the backyard for training. All I could do was nod. I wasn't really feeling better but I had already missed two days of training. Alpha Nick let me, Rose, and Marcus know that if we didn't show up for training today he'd have to through us in cells over the weekend. We all knew he was bluffing but complied anyways.

Speaking of the two they strutted  out of the house a look of sleep still on their face. I don't remember much from the night we got drunk but it was still taking a toll on us. I had to take off 3 days of work just so I could recuperate. All of the patents had been released today though, so I wouldn't have to return until Monday.

"I swear the next time I see a bottle of alcohol I'm going to vomit."

"Agreed." I said shaking my head at just the thought.

"That's for sure. It's been two days and I still feel like crap. Nick thought I was pregnant again with how much I was vomiting!" We shook our head, focusing on our trainer of the day.
Today it was Donny. He was always a good trainer, and wasn't too bad on the eyes to look at. He was probably 20 years older than me but his dark chocolate skin made him look ageless. Marcus always flirted with him, which of course pissed his mate off.

"When's Alpha Thomas arriving?" I came out of my thoughts when Marcus asked Rose a question.

"Tonight! He's the last Alpha to arrive so Nick will probably do his meeting in the morning."

"Gosh why do they always have to do those in the morning! It's like every meeting we have it's always in the morning! I don't even have anything to do with it but I have to attend!" Marcus groaned a look of annoyance on his face. I couldn't help but laugh, that man loved his sleep.

"How many alphas are coming?" I asked

"Well three arrived earlier and Thomas is the last one so only four."

I nodded. I briefly remembered who Alpha Thomas was. He came to the pack when I was 15, right after my dad died. He was a tall man, having a good foot over me. I wasn't too sure how old he was but like Donny his dark skin made him look ageless. He was definitely a sight to see. I remember all the girls in my class drooling over him when he was here, me included. He had came here to look for his mate, but unfortunately didn't find her. My stupid fifteen year old self hoped it was me. It clearly wasn't because I wasn't even of age. But a girl can dream right? And I did just that.

It was weird I was always attracted to older guys. Even Noah was older then me when we dated. When I turned 16 and didn't find my mate I felt alone and Noah was kinda there for me. It turned into a relationship...sorta. We realized not even a week later that it's better to be just friends. He found his mate not long after and I was alone again. I didn't mind it too much I guess. I mean having a mate comes with a lot of responsibility. At least that's what I told myself everyday as I had to try to convince myself it was gonna be okay. Our mate would come one day.

Training didn't last too long but it made me exhausted nonetheless. My body ached from not training in two days. I knew Id be spending the rest of the day icing my muscles. I had met the three Alphas that had arrived earlier. Alpha John, Alpha Kingston, and Alpha Reagan. They were all nice, I remember meeting them briefly when they came here to look for their mates. Only Kingston lucked out, his mate being Ally, one of the pack warriors. She was always super strong and a very determined girl. I loved her for that. She had actually trained me a few times privately before she left. I was sad to see her go but knew she'd be one good Luna. The other Alphas had mates but they didn't come from our pack. The Alphas excused themselves, their mates following them. Ally hugged me before she left, following Rose to catch up with their mates. They went to go to 'important business' whatever that was. I offered to watch the twins while they did just that. We played in the living most of the day until their mom came to put them to bed.

The night fell quickly and I watched as Rose and Marcus ran around frantically trying to get everything prepared for tomorrow.

"Did you finish the video?" Marcus asked Rose as she finished cutting Mickey ear shaped watermelon.

"Almost, I just need Ella's and Jakes part then I'll be done."

"What video?" I asked confused as ever.

"The twins birthday video, you just have to say nice things about them for like 30 seconds and your done."

"Well okay then." I laughed at Marcus's choice of words.

Rose had me do just that, and soon sought out her brother for the same thing. I started to get sleepy so I said goodnight and headed to my room. As I was walking up the stairs a strange feeling gathered in my chest. I blew it off as nothing and continued my way to the stairs. I didn't even make it half way up them before the pain grew stronger, making me lose grip of the rail and fall. I held my chest in pain, my eyes closed tight. It was growing stronger by the second and I started seeing black spots. I could hear voices in the background but couldn't register what they were saying. I felt my body being picked up as I drifted off into unconsciousness.

"I'm not sure what happened Alpha, all test came back fine and other then the bruises I don't see any other physical problems. She just needs to rest Alpha, there was still alcohol in her system so it might just be that. She's able to leave whenever."

I heard a door shut and decided now would be a good time to open my eyes. Bright lights shun my eyes making me shut them back tightly.

"Ella? Are you awake?" I heard Beta Jake ask. I tried to open my eyes again this time allowing them to adjust to the bright lights. I opened my eyes and saw Beta Jake, Alpha Nick and Luna Rose. I looked around, I was in the pack infirmity.

"How are you feeling Ella?" Nick asked with worried eyes.

"Better then I was. What happened?"

"Jake found you on the stairs and ran  you here. You've been out for about an hour." I nod remembering the horrible pain I felt.

"The doctor said he didn't know what happened all your test came back normal." I formed a "O" with my mouth a little surprised by the news.

"I'm so sorry Ella I shouldn't have made you drink all that alcohol this is all my fault" Rose says through tears coming to my side.

"I'm sure it's not the alcohol Rose. It's okay really!" She doesn't say anything as she rubs circles on my hand.

"I hope you feel better Ella, Marcus is really worried about you, he won't stop talking in my head." I laugh, Marcus was always worrying about me.

"Thank you Beta. Let him know I'm okay for me?" He nods, dismissing himself from the room.

"Doc said you can go home anytime, so if you want to go we can help you to your room." 

"Yeah I think I'll go home but I don't need any help Alpha, thank you though. Don't you have guest arriving soon?" I look at the clock seeing it's almost midnight.

"Yes they should be here any minute they just passed the border."

Rose helps me stand up, holding me until I balance myself. I go to the bathroom and go change out of my hospital gown. I strip the piece of fabric and gasp as my naked body appears in the mirror. Dark bruises line my stomach, stopping just above my thighs and below my chest. I touch them, wincing at the pain. Where did these come from?

I hurry and throw on my clothes from earlier. I let Rose help me to the stairs but wave her off as I make my way up the stairs to my room. I make it into my room and strip of my clothes once again. I climb into bed, bringing the covers over my body.

'Ellie? What happened to us' I ask my wolf hoping she will talk to me and have a answer. I wait but no response comes. I sigh, I just hope she's okay.

I turn off my lamp and close my eyes. I get lost in my thoughts, and eventually fall asleep.
