Chapter 2

Elaina caught up to me in the parking lot and started walking with me.

"So how was your day?" She asked smiling at me and linking arms with me. I smiled at her and shrugged.

"It was okay, definitely eventful." I said chuckling. She raised an eyebrow and stopped me.

"Do tell." She said. I shook my head and looked around, then leaned in closer to her.

"You have to swear not tell anyone." I whispered. She nodded and zipped her lips.

"Not a soul." She said. I sighed and glanced around again.

"So I found my mate, who's in the other pack and... Well, he's the Alpha. But you know how I am, I'm shy and nervous all the time and he's in almost all of my classes and I just couldn't focus at all." I said in a rushed whisper. Her face lit up na she grinned at me.

"Awwwwww! Cammy! That's great, but why are you keeping it secret?" She said quietly. I sighed and shrugged.

"Anxiety." I said, my voice sounded sadder than I meant it to. She rubbed my shoulder and gave me a small smile.

"I won't tell anyone. But I'm happy for you." She said. We started walking again, over to where Dominic was standing.

"There you are Laina." Ashton said as we approached them, she smiled and rolled her eyes. I looked down and turned to look across the parking lot, I found Ryder almost immediately and we locked eyes. I wanted so badly to just walk over to him and stand with him, but I was scared of how everyone would react.

"How was the rest of your day Cam?" Ashton asked. I turned back around and shrugged, praying he wouldn't say anything about gym class.

"It was okay, kinda boring." I said casually. He nodded and Dominic raised an eyebrow.

"Did you find them?" He asked. I cleared my throat and nodded slightly, scratching the back of my head. Izzy raised her eyebrows and looked between us confused.

"Find who?" She asked. Dominic turned to her and smiled.

"His mate." He said. I cringed and looked away as Izzy, Hannah, William, and Jade all gasped excitedly and smiled widely.

"When? Who is it, why aren't they with you?" Jade asked looking around. Elaina shifted slightly and glanced at me worriedly. I glared at Dominic and cleared my throat.

"This morning in gym, and because they left already." I said flatly. Dominic noticed my glare and looked at me confused.

"But who are they? Come on Cam, the suspense is killing me." Hannah said. William put his arm around my shoulders and laid his head against mine.

"Come on you can tell us, I promise I won't get too jealous." He said playfully. Ashton pouted and and crossed his arms. I heard a low growl from across the parking lot and pulled away from Will, running a hand through my hair. They all looked around the parking lot and back at me, confused.

"I'm tired and have homework to do, I'm gonna head home." I said starting to walk away, shoving my hands in my pockets. Dominic caught up with me and started walking beside me.

"What's wrong?" He asked quietly. I rolled my eyes and glared at him again.

"I didn't want to tell anyone yet." I said flatly. He looked down and nodded.

"I'm sorry. I figured you'd be excited." He said. I shrugged and started walking faster.

"Doesn't matter now." I said under my breath. I walked back to my house and went straight up to my room, slamming the door as I did. I threw my backpack on my bed and kicked the wall, then I sat down and sighed heavily. I looked out my window and let myself zone out. I heard Jades bedroom door shut and I looked at my door, then grabbed my backpack and opened my window, then climbed out, hopping onto the tree that was in front of my room. I quickly climbed down and jogged back to the school, there were a few people left in the parking lot, mostly standing by their cars and talking. I walked over to where Ryder had been and just stood there, I sighed and glanced at my phone, ignoring the text I had from Jade. I wasn't even sure what I was doing here, but I didn't want to be home, or even in territory. Honestly I wanted to find Ryder and just be with him for a while, even tho I knew I'd be nervous the entire time. I leaned against a tree and took a deep breath, hoping to catch his sent.
