I managed to make it half way to Ryder's before I slowed down. Ryder pulled over as he passed me and got out of his car. I slowed to a walk and sighed. He held his arms open and I wrapped my arms around him, burying my face in his chest. He held me tightly and kissed the top of my forehead. My eyes started watering and I took a deep breath.
"Jade helped me pack you a bag, so you won't have to wear clothes that don't fit again." He said lightly. I nodded my head but stayed quiet. He sighed and picked me up, carrying me over to the car and putting me in the passenger seat. He got in and drove back to his house. I stared at my hands for the rest of the drive, focusing on staying calm and not letting myself cry. We pulled into the drive way and Ryder parked, but didn't unlock the doors.
"Shit. I don't need this right now." He mumbled annoyed. I looked up at him as he reached into the back seat.
"What's wrong?" I asked quietly. He took a deep breath and handed me one of my jackets, then started to put on one of his.
"Dustin is here. We're gonna leave your bag in here until he leaves." He said adjusting the hood of his jacket to cover his neck. I pulled my jacket on and tightened the hood with the strings around my neck. Ryder adjusted the placement of the fabric and then unlocked the car.
"We're finishing the project, all the stuff is on the smaller dresser in a pile. I'm gonna have you go up and bring it down while I talk to Dustin." He said quietly. I nodded and took a deep breath as we got to the front door. Ryder glanced at me one more time before opening the door.
"I'm back." Ryder yelled as he shut the door behind us. Ava and Dustin both ventured into the hall. Dustin glared at me, and Ava forced a smile.
"Finishing that project so I can have my markers back?" She asked with a chuckle. Ryder rolled his eyes and tossed his keys into the kitchen.
"Can you run up and grab what we have done so far, I think it's on the shorter dresser. Second door on the right." He said turning to me. I nodded and started up the steps as Ryder, Dustin, and Ava went into the living room. I quickly grabbed the poster paper and the markers, then our notes and started to go downstairs, pausing in the bathroom to make sure my neck was still covered. As I got to the bottom of the stairs I slowed to stop, listening to the conversation going on in the living room.
"Why don't you just have him do it by himself instead of bringing him here?" Dustin asked annoyed.
"Because it's a partner assignment and that's how it's gonna get done. You really need to get over this whole prejudice thing with the other pack." Ryder said equally annoyed.
"I'm not prejudice against them they're just annoy- What happened to your neck?" Dustin asked. My heart stopped.
"What do you mean?" Ryder asked confused. Ava cleared her throat. Dustin started laughing.
"Were you with Sammie again? She's not at all concerned about getting caught anymore is she?" Dustin asked still laughing. Ryder chuckled.
"She doesn't care no, she's got Damian wrapped around her finger, there's nothing that she could do to make him leave." Ryder said chuckling.
"So you were with her? Break your record yet?" Dustin asked.
"Ah man, that record is never getting beat, we both were surprised at it when we made it. Tell you what though, that was probably the best night of my life, there is nothing that she can't do." Ryder said fondly, I could hear the smile in his voice. Ava cleared her throat again and I started walking into the room.
"Sorry, I couldn't find the markers." I said shyly. I sat next to Ava and put the stuff down on the coffee table.
"How are you wearing that in here? It's hot as balls." Dustin asked, probably just trying to prove that he could be nice. I cleared my throat and shrugged. He shook his head and stood up, starting to leave the room.
