Chapter 7

Ryder gently shaking my shoulder woke me up, I groaned and covered my head with the pillow.

"Cam, you have to get up, we have school today." Ryder whispered. I shook my head and he sighed, pulling the blanket off of my body. I whined and sat up, pouting at Ryder. He smiled and laughed, grabbing my hands and pulling me to my feet.

"I don't wanna get up, I was comfy." I mumbled. He kissed me softly and pushed my hair out of my face.

"I know baby, but we have to go today. We both missed yesterday." He said. I looked down and sighed.

"I uh, I don't have anything to change into." I said slowly. He turned on the light and chuckled.

"I'll give you something to wear." He said. I looked at him confused.

"I'm not gonna fit in any of your clothes though, you're taller and broader than me." I said. He shrugged and started going through his dresser. I walked over and stood next to him while he searched through his clothes. After a couple minutes he handed me a navy blue t-shirt.

"Try this one on." He said turning back to his dresser. I took the shirt and put it on, looking in the mirror. It was large on me, but not in a way that looked bad. I turned back to him and shifted from side to side. He glanced at me and smiled, turning to face me. He wrapped his arms around me and buried his face in my neck.

"Why do you have to be so cute?" He mumbled quietly, I felt my face turn red and shifted slightly. He kissed the top of my head and sighed, turning back to the dresser.

"I just wanna keep you here, all to myself." He said softly. I bit my lip and looked down, noticing the mark on my wrist. It was still there, but you definitely couldn't see unless you were looking for it. I started looking at my arms, sighing in relief that the marks were gone. I looked up at Ryder, smiling slightly, but he was still digging through his pants drawer.

"These are my smallest pair of jeans, I don't know how well they'll fit you though." He said handing me a pair of dark blue jeans. I smiled at him and shrugged.

"They'll have to do." I said. I walked to the bathroom and locked the door behind me, then changed into the pants. They fit better than I had expected, they were too long, but they were tight fit jeans, so it wasn't unmanageable. I looked in the mirror, nervous about the mark on my lip. I sighed heavily in relief and smiled, there was no trace of the mark, or my lip being busted. I went back into Ryder's room and hugged him from behind. He jumped slightly and put his hands over mine.

"Do we have to go to school?" I asked softly. He chuckled and turned so he was facing me.

"We do. I promised Dominic that I'd bring you today." He said kissing my forehead. I sighed quietly, then kissed him. He smiled and kissed me back, then kissed my neck. I shivered slightly and he chuckled, then handed me my phone and my backpack.

"Let's get going." He said, taking my hand in his. I nodded and followed him out to the car. We both got in and got buckled, then he started to pull out. As we got closer to the school I started feeling uneasy and started to unintentionally squeeze Ryder's hand. He glanced at me worriedly and I took a deep breath.

"Will you stay with me today? Like in the halls and at lunch." I asked shyly. He raised an eyebrow and looked over at me again.

"If you want me to." He said nodding. I nodded my head and bit my lip.

"And hold my hand?" I asked almost mumbling. He parked in his usual spot and turned to face me.

"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel like we're rushing things Cam." He said, studying my face. I nodded and took a deep breath, looking up at him. He seemed concerned, but also excited. I smiled and leaned in, kissing him gently before getting unbuckled. He grinned and got out of the car, walking over to my side and holding the door open for me. I blushed slightly and got out, pushing my hair out of my face. He closed my door and took my hand, leading me across the parking lot to where Dominic was standing, he was standing with Hannah, Izzy, Jade, and Ashton. Hannah noticed us first and smiled brightly at me.

"Hi Cam! How are you?" She asked as we got over to them, everyone turned to look at me and Ryder.

"I'm okay. How are you guys?" I asked smiling. Dominic looked surprised and Jade looked confused.

"Pretty good, glad that you're back." Izzy said chuckling, I laughed with her and nodded.

"Sorry about that, I uh, needed a very short vacation." I said lightly. Ryder was stiff at my side, obviously feeling awkward.

"Where were you though?" Ashton asked. I smiled and held up mine and Ryder's hands.

"At Ryder's, I spent the night." I said. Ryder chuckled nervously and nodded. Ashton smiled at me and nodded, Jade and Hannah both raised their eyebrows and looked me up an down.

"You know you never answered me yesterday Cam." Dominic said quietly. I looked down and nodded, squeezing Ryder's hand as he tensed slightly.

"I know." I said slowly. Dominic sighed and shook his head. Ashton started waving to someone behind us as Dominic took my wrist and examined it. He looked shocked at how well it healed.

"Where have you been? I'm never here before you." Ashton said as Will came into view. I pulled my arm away from Dominic and focused on not getting tense. Ryder squeezed my hand and I looked up at him. He was studying my face carefully and I smiled, kissing his cheek. Hannah started to walk over to where River was and Ashton was happily leaning on Will, who had his arm around him. Ryder put his arm around me and I intertwined our fingers together so we were still holding hands. Will looked me up and down, looking disappointed, and I smiled at him.

"Sleep in late Will?" I asked lightly. He eyed me for a second before shrugging.

"Well Izzy just left without me, so I didn't have the extra 'alarm' to get up." He said chuckling. I looked at Ashton and smiled.

"I was thinking, maybe we'll take you guys up on the double date idea, you guys can pick where and all that." I said. Will looked shocked and confused, making Izzy and Dominic look at him suspiciously.

"What's wrong? It was your idea." Izzy asked, trying to sound casual. He shook his head and laughed nervously.

"N-Nothing, I just didn't expect him to take me up on it or anything, especially considering someone attacked him yesterday." He said rushed. Ashton, Izzy, and Jade all looked at him confused and then at me. I was smirking triumphantly. I looked over at Dominic, who looked slightly pissed.

"Answer your question?" I asked casually. Ryder's entire body jerked, then tensed up. I squeezed his hand and leaned against him.

"William, how did you know he got attacked? I didn't tell anyone, and me and Ryder are the one's who found him." Dominic asked slowly. Ashton turned to Will.

"And you left school before classes even started." Ashton said, pulling away from Will, who looked panicked and was glaring at me.

"What? I didn't say anything, I didn't even rat you out. I wouldn't tell them who did it." I said casually.

"It was him?" Dominic asked firmly. I nodded, looking Will in the eyes.

"Bite marks and all." I said. Ryder growled and I pulled him a few steps back, kissing the top of his hand. Will took a couple steps back and looked around frantically. Izzy grabbed him by his hair and Ashton grabbed his arms, then they started leading him back to his house while he screamed in protest.

"If he so much as growls at you, I'll fucking kill him." Ryder said harshly. I pulled him into a hug and sighed. He buried his face in my neck, taking several deep breaths.

"I think maybe it'd be better for you to stay with Ryder for a while." Dominic said after a second, Me and Ryder both turned to look at him.

"Define a while." I said slowly. He shrugged and sighed.

"At least a month." He said. I looked at him surprised and nodded. Ryder held me tighter and took a deep breath.

"Come on, we're gonna be late for our classes." Ryder said, taking my hand in his and leading me into the building. I followed him, walking quickly to keep up with him. When got to my class room he stopped and kissed my forehead, the sighed and smiled at me.

"I'll be right here after class, okay?" He said. I nodded and smiled at him, then went in and sat in my seat next to Nate.
