Recap: Alec and Cheryl were in his room and were kissing. That's all I remember. Btw fasten your seat belts everyone.
"He what?" My two best friends asked me again.
"He kissed me" I slowly said
I had just narrated to them the entire event. Their expressions were worth a million bucks. Especially Naura's. Her mouth was so wide open that if we were outdoors, I swear she would've been the parking lot for flies.
"So you're telling us that, this gorgeous new guy kissed you on the very first date?" Thank goodness she had to move her mouth while speaking.
"Ummm yeah" I nodded
"Are you the same person who took 7 years to kiss her first boyfriend and that too after us telling you for a thousand times that he won't think you are a bad kisser?" She spoke so quick.
"Yes"
"And he also said all those corny cheesy stuff to you and you didn't break his face?" This was time she spoke quicker.
It was hard to catch up.
"Yup" I made sure to add a emphasis on the "p".
"Who are you?" She was almost smiling but with confusion.
"I don't know Naur. When Jason left me I felt this huge void inside me. And I felt like I'm gonna sink into it. It made me feel so Shallow. And then out of nowhere Alec comes and pulls me out. I think he is filling that void." Honesty becomes me.
Rose who has been quite this entire time comes up to me.
She looks like she didn't get a sleep last night. Her eyes were puffy.
"Cher, you should give yourself a chance. If moving on makes you happy then go for it." She speaks but reluctantly.
That's weird. Rose is the most confident and outspoken person I know. She never hesitates to put forward her opinion.
But I guess, she's just tired.
She's doing some online freelance writing all the time and that's why she rarely sees us. And she hasn't been like herself since the vacations started. Maybe that job is really stressing her out. I'll have to talk to her about that for sure.
"What? No!" Naura screams
"She can't just move on with another guy who showed up like 15 minutes ago into our lives. Babe, take your time. I think you should talk to Jason and clear your mind." Naura suggests.
Surprisingly the mention of Jason's name doesn't hurt me like it used to.
"Are you mad? You want him to talk to Jason?" Rose argues
"Yes I do. Let's face it guys. They both have been together forever. And neither of us can deny that Jason loves her madly. You have to at least let him talk." Naura screams again
"I think it's a bad idea. You shouldn't " Rose looks at me.
I remember that Rose always used to tell me how lucky I was to have Jason. And today she's the one telling me to stay away from him. Wow. Things have really changed.
And exactly when I had no idea what to do my phone chimes.
It's a text from Alec.
Hey beautiful I've got a surprise for you. Meet me at Frontiers. 5 PM. I'll be waiting.
And yes I was smiling.
