"Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaama."
"Mama!"
"Mamamamamama!"
"MA-""-Yes sweetie?" The twenty-one year old mother paused her making of breakfast to turn around abruptly, startling her four year old daughter and quieting her before she could start to shout. There was no need to shout, they were only a mere five feet apart.
The four year old lifted her head from her arms, wide-eyed, before composing her small self. "What time are we goin' to Gramma's an' Granpap's?" She asked, eagerly.
The woman sighed, putting down the spatula she was using to flip pancakes. "I told you yesterday and once you woke up this morning, remember?" She said in a sweet motherly tone, walking over to her daughter who sat at the island table on a barstool.
The child scrunched up her small face in thought. "Yeah..." she said, still thinking. "But I don' renember."
Since she is an English teacher, the mother sighed at the error. "It's reMEMber, sweetie. There is no 'N' in reMEMber. And we're leaving right after lunch, so we'll pack for your grandparents' house after breakfast... we'll meet them at church."
"Ooooookay!"
The mother sighed audibly as the little girl immediately ran up the stairs to pack, entirely forgetting about her upcoming pancakes.
