Skyla Kane lays on the hard bed in her cell, staring at the titanium ceiling of the Ark. The girl was arrested at the young age of fifteen for an unforgiving crime, she chooses not to explain.
Growing bored, Skyla gets up and she does a few jumping jacks before she drops to the metal floor and works on doing pushups. When the door opens, she turns to see some guards. Knowing she has a blade she made from some scrap metal beneath her bed in her jacket pocket, she stands slowly.
"Prisoner 270, face the wall." One of the guards demands.
Remaining silent, Skyla turns around and faces the wall. She feels something like needles stick into her pale skin, then she is pulled out into Sky Box. Skyla Kane notices the guards pulling dozens of criminals out of their cells, and dragging us to en exodus ship.
"DAD!" Skyla calls spots Marcus Kane.
"Skyla." Marcus says gently as he approaches his daughter.
"What's going on, dad?" Skyla asks in a demanding tone. "I am not eighteen for another month."
"Skyla, you're going to the ground." Marcus tells her, hesitantly touching her face.
Skyla falls against the guard at the words, shocked... But not my the words, but how her father hesitated to soothe her with his touch. Skyla something jab into her neck, and blackness evades her mind.

A jolt brings me back, I've been strapped into a seat on the exodus skip. Out of nowhere, there is a huge jolt.
"What was that?" I ask nobody in particular.
"That was the atmosphere." The brunette girl says from my right. "I'm Octavia."
I was about to reply before the tv comes on with a loud noise. Chancellor Thelonious Jaha comes on the screen, and he begins to speak.
"Prisoners of the Ark, hear me now. You've been given a second chance, and as your Chancellor, it is my hope that you see this as not just a chance for all of us, indeed for mankind itself. We have no idea what is waiting for you down there. If the odds if survival were better, we could've sent others. Frankly, we're sending you because your crimes have made you expendable."
"Your dad's a dick, Wells!" One of the prisoners calls out, my face remains straight and emotionless.
"It's your crime that locked you up!" I yell back.
Jaha continues, ignoring the vulgar comment. "If, however, you do survive those crimes will be forgiven, your records wiped clean."
"Is it ok if I have a bad feeling about this?" I ask Octavia.
She only shrugs before Jaha continues.
"The drop site has been chosen carefully. Before the last war, Mount Weather was a military base built within a mountain. It was to be stocked with enough non-perishables to sustain three hundred people for up to two years. No one ever made it there. Because we spare you no food, no water, or medicine, I cannot stress strongly enough, that Mount Weather is life."
"Spacewalk bandit strikes again!" I hear chants from the front. "Go, Finn! Check it out."

The exodus ship crashes, I bang my head on my seat. A groan escapes my lips as a throbbing pain begins to make its way to my senses. Monty Green, a friend of mine from the Ark, looks around. He's beside Jasper Jordan, his friend and my boyfriend.
"Listen." Monty urges. "No machine hum."
"Whoa." Jasper muses. "That's a first."
I undo my unbuckle.
"The outer door's on the lower level!" One male criminal chants. "Let's go!"
"We can't just open the doors!" A gorgeous, yet familiar blonde calls.
I hop off the last step of the ladder and I make way to the front, where Bellamy Blake stands. I recognize him from my combat training, he was in training to become a guard.
"Hey, back it up guys!" Bellamy barks out the command.
"Stop!" The blonde says, I recognize her now as Clarke Griffin. "The air could be toxic."
"If the air's toxic, we're all dead anyways." Bellamy says.
"Bellamy?" I hear Octavia's sweet voice, and a smile forms on my own lips.
"That's the girl the hid under the floor!" A random male criminal calls.
"My god, look at how big you are." Bellamy says, not attempting to hide the pride behind his words.
"What the hell are you wearing, a guards uniform?" Octavia asks as she plucks at the dull colored guards uniform.
"I borrowed it to get on the drop ship." Bellamy admits. "Someone has got to keep an eye on you." He chuckles a little after those words.
"Where's your wristband?" Clarke bellows.
"Do you mind?" Octavia asks with a sneer. "I haven't seen my brother in a year."
"Let's give them something to remember you by." Bellamy says to keep his sister from attacking a few criminals.
"Yeah?" Octavia challenges. "Like what?"
"Like being the first person on the ground in a hundred years." Bellamy claims.
"Ninety seven years, but close enough." I correct him.
Bellamy narrows his eyes at me before we opens the door. My eyes remain wide as the real life sun his our faces. Octavia walks down the ramp.
She jumps down. "We're back, bitches!"
I stay in my spot as everyone runs off cheering.
Jasper Jordan stops beside me and he holds out his hand. "Come on."
I grab Jasper's hand and we exit the ship together.
