these side-tracked words

that i took home with me and

stashed at the far end of a cupboard

may never seem like much

but if you read a little slowly

maybe it the early hours of morning

it will make a little sense

these words may not be much

but i hope you understand

the troubles those teenage years could cause

be careful with the company you keep

the attention you attract

and most of all

forgive

forgive yourself

forgive the ones that left you alone

the ones that hurt you beyond belief

and love

love the ones that stuck by your side

the ones that shared your home

the ones that helped you in times of need

because you need all the help

you can get

but i'm sure if you pour you soul

into reading these waterlogged pages

you may find something more

something i've hidden deep in little words

and maybe under ink stains

you may find something

i wasn't aware i had written down

through angry tears

you never know

where you're going to go
