"Christmas shopping..."
"Yeah! Christmas is practically right around the corner, so I figured why not?"
Robin pushed the cart around as Shulk skipped around finding anything Christmas-like they could put around the house.
As Robin tuned the other man out, Robin checked his phone real quick to see if anyone had texted him. And of course, there was a text from Ike.
Ike:Where'd you guys go?
Robin: sorry Shulk really wanted to go Christmas shopping.
Ike: Oh okay now I'm glad I didn't come with you guys. 😏
Robin: K see u in an hour
Ike: k bye
Robin tucked away his phone and caught up to Shulk.
"So... how much money are you making me spend on this..." Robin asked.
"Ehhh, $200 tops? And I'm sure we'll get a discount... so... $100?" Shulk replied,dropping a Mario ornament into the cart.
"Yeah... I think we've went way beyond 200. Let's get in line."
"Waaaiit, but—"
"Nope. Come on."
~~~
The two men waited in line, standing quietly and patiently. They got the occasional stare from children, teens, and young adults. Not really because they were recognizable and iconic characters but because there was a Smash Bros. Poster right next to them that for once had their faces on it.
"Robin..."
"No."
"Robin!"
"I do not want to play that stupid Heads Up Game on your phone, Shulk."
"No, there's just a kid... tugging on your coat."
Robin looked over his shoulder to see a little boy swinging around on the end of Robin's coat, his mother clueless as she looked at some of the little trinkets on the side of them.
"Ahem." Robin coughed loudly.
The mother was taken in surprise as she saw her son.
"Yeah, uh," Shulk started. "Get your son's hands off my man."
~~~
"Zel?" Daisy asked as she knocked on her bedroom door.
"Yes?" Zelda called from inside her room.
"Can I come in?"
...
"Yeah."
Daisy pushed the door open and walked in the room.
"It's a little early, Daisy... don't you wanna sleep?"
"It's a little early, Zelda. Don't you wanna sleep and not watch Friends for 10 hours straight?"
"It's only 6:00?!"
"Mhm." Daisy sat on the end of Zelda's bed. "I made you breakfast muffins. Here."
Daisy handed Zelda a small plate of golden-brown muffins. Zelda eagerly took them out of Daisy's hands and took the first bite out of one.
"I used that... bacon.. filling.. that you told me was actually pretty good. It's weird that you like that kind of stuff, Zel."
"If you tasted it, you would like it." Zelda declared. "Isn't it a little cold? You only have a tank top on and Pajama shorts."
