Chapter 2: MAMA's

Tzuyu's POV:

"Next up will be a performance with TWICE!" the MC announces, and we quickly walk into our positions. The opening notes of TT play, and we can hear the fanchant

Im Nayeon! Yoo Jeongyeon! Momo-chan! Sana-chan! Park Jihyo! Mina-chan! Kim Dahyun! Son Chaeyoung! Chou Tzuyu! One-in-a million! Sesang-e-dan hanappun-in TWICE!

We sing, and dance for 3 minutes, then our song switches to Signal. We quickly dash into our positions, and I am behind all of the members, holding up a heart, bouncing it back between the members. As I go from Dahyun's side to Chaeyoung's side, my eyes catch another pair of eyes in the audience. And its Taehyung sunbaenim! The guy who's shoe made a squeaky sound! I decide to nickname him squeaky shoe in my head. I look to his right, and see Jungkook. He gives a small smile, and I smile back at him. Then I twirl back to Dahyun.

Sign-eul bonae signal bonae (ending of signal)

We begin to walk offstage, and I can see BTS sunbaenims also walking out the door. They must be heading backstage to get ready for their own performance. I follow Sana unnie down the hallway once again, and she asks me, "Are you excited for BTS sunbaenim's performance? We haven't seen them in a while!"

"Ye-"

I'm cut off by Nayeon unnie, who exclaims, "Oh! BTS sunbaenim annyeonghaseyo again!"

I should have known that we were going to pass each other in the hallway. I look at them in front of us, and I immediately see Taehyung, the squeaky shoe. He gives me a small version of his signature boxy smile as he passes by me. A few seconds later, I see Jungkook, one of my few other friends outside of TWICE. He gives me a huge bunny smile and says, "Tzuyu-ah Annyeong!" 

"Kookie annyeong!" I say in return, and continue on my way to our dressing room to change out of our outfits. I remember first seeing Jungkook at ISAC. I'd only seen him on stage or from far away. 

Flashback:

"TWICE!" ONCE yelled to us from the bleachers. We turned around to wave hello to our adorable fans, and I kept on walking backwards. I unfortunately did not notice two staff members and Jungkook behind me. I crashed into one of the staff members, and I turned around surprise. I saw Jungkook, and I thought that I had crashed into him. Thank Jihyo that I saw the staff immediately after that, so I apologized, and Jungkook left with the staff. 

When we went back into the rooms for idols inside the ISAC stadium building, I saw Jungkook again. He saw me, and walked over. 

"Hey, you're Tzuyu right?"

"Yeah, and you're Jungkook" I said, "I'm sorry for almost crashing into you."

"No it's totally fine, you never actually crashed into me anyways." he said

We talked for a little while, and then we separated ways, back to our private rooms. I wondered if I would ever see him again. 

At the Chuseok special ISAC, I saw him again, and we had another friendly conversation before the event started. We exchanged numbers, and texted each other often. We became very close, and I was always excited to see him at events, since we didn't cross paths very often.

Jungkook's POV:

I watched TWICE's performance in the audience. They improved a lot, especially Tzuyu, becuse she would always text me about how hard practice is, and learning Japanese at the same time was difficult as well. The lives of idols were hard. Her voice was very beautiful, and I could see at the corner of my eye that Taehyung was staring at her during her parts. That made me frown, but I'm not sure why. Maybe because I had an urge to protect her because we were close.  

After TT ends, they change their formation for Signal, and I can see Tzuyu looking at us. But she's not looking at me though. She's looking to my left, where Taehyung is sitting. Its for a second, and she looks at me too. I smile, and she smiles too, and continues twirling back and forth. She's so cute on stage, but in reality, she's an evil maknae too, just like me. 

Tzuyu's POV:

After changing, we head out back to the audience, and we sit to watch BTS's perfomance. During the opening notes of their song, the crowd goes crazy! They whip their ARMY bombs in the air, and the crowd is the loudest that they've been. Jungkook's singing and dancing is amazing as usual, and I can't forget to compliment him after, like we always do, to keep us in high spirits. 

It's Squeaky Shoe- I mean Taehyung sunbaenim's turn to sing. I've decided to call all members that I don't know very well sunbaenim still, because that is the tradition in Korea to be polite. Wait, he said to call him Taehyung. He starts to sing, and I'm amazed like I am every time. His voice is so deep, but he can still hit those high notes. His eyes scan the crowd, and meet mine. He turns away quickly, and they change formations. My eyes follow him, attracted like a magnet. But its Jungkook's turn to sing, and he looks at me, so I smile, and he smiles back at me. But I can't help but think about the encounter earlier...
