I’ve cried so many tears this last year that can last a life time. But I’ve got no more tried to cry as I’m turning the page, leaving my past the past. Packing up all my belongings into boxes and leaving was one of the hardest things I have faced in my life but the thing was I never said good-bye. I know I seem selfish but I could otherwise they would of persuaded me to stay, so I left without another look back leaving all my family and friends. But I did write them all letters apologising, explaining and saying good-bye. All the money I’ve saved up from birthdays, Christmas’ and working I’ve made a bank account so I don’t have to lug it all around. It’s not a lot of money but it will help rent an apartment and keep me afloat until I get a job. The first few days of arriving I stayed in a hotel until I found a real-estate that I can choose an apartment. My apartment isn’t that big, but it will do for now. I’ve got my dream job at a local bookstore (I know sounds lame but I love books and it’s an easy job)
I’ve unpacked the last things when my door bell goes off. I open the door it’s my neighbours from across the hall. There’s an awkward silence for a bit.
“Hi I’m Mia” I break the awkward silence and it seems that everyone snaps out of it to.
“Hi Mia, I’m Scarlett and this is my boyfriend Riley, we live across the hall.”
“Hiya its nice meeting you, do you want to come in?” I asked
“Thanks but we were just heading out with some friends, do you want to come with us?” There was another short awkward silence.
“Okay thanks please come in for a sec so I can get dressed and grab some money” I looked down and I was wearing comfortable clothes but they weren’t really going out in public worthy clothes.
5 minutes later we were out the door and on our way to meet Scarlett and Riley’s friends. Scarlett’s phone kept on beeping and her face paled and a frown appeared.
“Change off plans we aren’t meeting the girlies so it will just be us three and Riley’s brother.” Scarlett told us
“That’s Okay; I don’t do really well in crowds” I said nervously “where are we meeting him?”
“In a local Costa Coffee, I’ll drive” Scarlett Shrieked the last few words; I smile as I love Costa Coffee’s especially their skinny Vanilla lattes.
We all scramble into Scarlett’s Black BMW and go on our way to meet Riley’s brother. The car journey wasn’t too long as it was local as the closer we got: the more eager I was for coffee and meeting someone different that I could be friends with and hang out with when Scarlett and Riley are busy.
We enter Costa and Riley’s on the phone with his brother saying that he will be 5 minutes late. So I order a Skinny Vanilla latte for me, a chocolate mocha for Scarlett and a black coffee for Riley. I collect the drinks and bring them to the table and start asking. I found out that Scarlett is an auntie and that Riley’s has 2 brothers called Matthew and Gregg; Gregg’s in the army in Afghanistan. Whilst we were talking and asking questions about each other, Matthew walked in the coffee shop and ordered himself a drink, I watched closely as I wanted to see what he looks like. But as he turns around to join us our eyes lock together and I’m frozen in place. Riley’s brother is Matt; the one who stole my first kiss. I start to panic and hyperventilate i drop my eyes from the stare off grab all my belonging including my coffee, make a quick excuse and run out the door, I hear my name being called out behind me but I don’t stop running until I reach my apartment and am locked inside alone.
