Chapter. 3

The pair fall into the crowd and the professor tells the huge crowd to look in his direction. They all did so and sat down. He told everyone that they had the Pokémon for each group. Ash was very happy when he heard this. The professors assistant than brought him an egg. Every kid including Ash was confused by this. He explained there were Pokémon there for every group. But they were all in eggs. The professor wanted to have a dynamic where the kids had to care for the egg during the camp. Every kid after the explanation all in unison nodded.

The groups split and Ash and Serena went up to grab their egg. Serena went out to grab the egg but almost dropped it. Ash then helped her lift it and told her to let him handle it while smiling. Serena nodded and smiled due to his offer. Ash carried it to a nearby table. He sat it down and inspected it. It was two shades of red. A scarlet red and a lightly red like salmon. He wondered what Pokémon was in it. Serena instead of inspecting the egg like Ash was more interested in Ash. She asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. He pumped his hand in the air and grabbed at the sun. I wanna be a Pokémon master. Serena smiled and nodded. Ash than asked her what she wanted to be. She didn't respond. Ash smiled and told her it was alright and it would come in time.

The group was called in an hour later for dinner. Ash ran while carrying the egg. This scared Serena and she told Ash to slow down. Ash smiled and was happy of her concern for the egg and told her that. She blushed and told him thanks to him. The two giggled and got closer to the main site. They went inside a building and food was laid out on a huge table. Ash's mouth began to water. Serena saw this and facepalmed and laughed at the same time. Serena's stomach then growled, she blushed as she realized Ash head that and was laughing. The two shared a laugh and sat down to eat.

Ash grabbed two plates worth of food and sat down. Serena grabbed a half plate, both than began to eat. Ash adored the food and Serena hated it commenting on how she could do better than this one day.  Ash heard this and smiled. The two after eating checked on the egg. It was safe and sound. With that the professor came in and told them it was time for bed. All the kids cried out in disappointment, but the professor stood firm with his statement. All the kids then filed into the bedrooms. Ash got into a bottom bunk and Gary got into the top bunk. Serena thinking that Ash wanted to be left alone, started to walk away. Ash noticed her walking away and followed. She sat in her bed crying and put her head in her hands. Ash than tapped her shoulder and sat beside her. She looked up and saw him. He asked if this bed was taken while giggling. She asked him while crying why he's here and not with Gary. He smiled and told her partners gotta stick together to the end. She smiled and wiped her tears. She nods and sniffles

While they were sleeping, the egg moved a bit by itself. Unknown to the kids the egg days away from hatching.
