We all got into the limo that my mom rented out for us. Us meaning, Tony, Lexi, her girlfriend, and I. While arriving to the hotel, Lexi and her girlfriend, Sarah, sat across from us. They were making out intensely with each other and not paying attention to us. I looked at Anthony and he just kept looking down. At the floor, maybe.
"You okay, babe?" I ask. All he does is turn the other way.
"What did I do to upset him?" I thought to myself. I look the opposite way and I feel a tear fall down my face. Great. I'm crying on prom night. Again.
I feel a text message. Its from Lexi.
lexibestie: whats wrong? Did something happen between you and Toner?
brookecookie: Idk. hes ignoring me. I didnt do anything I think.
lexibestie: :( sorry maybe u should try talking 2 him.
brookecookie: I cant honestly rn. im too hurt.
We drove to the hotel in silence. As we were being dropped off, Anthony spoke up.
"So you look amazing tonight." He smiled at me.
"Oh wow, he speaks." Lexi said sarcastically. Lexi and Sarah walked away and into the building.
"Did I do something? I mean you basically ignored me the whole car ride here," I say trying to hold back tears.
"What? Baby, no! I was just- nevermind. Thats not important. Lets go inside and have the best time of our life." he says putting his arm around my shoulder, gently pulling me toward the building. I get out of his embrace.
"Im sorry, but I'm not going in until you tell me whats wrong. It will make me feel better if you do." I say sternly.
"Okay. Fine, but dont say I didnt warn you," he says, "I was having a boner. After I was done, I was too embarrassed to talk to you just in case you saw it." he looks to the ground. "I sorry, If I made you upset I just didnt know what to do."
I laugh. "That's really all it was? Babe, I dont care if your having a boner oml its a common thing for guys your age. I know that. Sorry for overreacting about it though, I really thought something was wrong with us."
