"Are you coming to Abu Dhabi?" You asked Giada on Facetime on the morning of the Brazilian Grand Prix. You stayed in your hometown, not being able to go to the race because of your studies. Giada and you got along since you met and you now considered her one of your best friends.

"Yes, of course, wouldn't want to miss the last race! Are you?"

"Definitely. I hope I'll be better by then, though. I've been feeling sick all week." You sighed.

"You do look a bit pale. Have you got the flu or something?"

"No, I don't think so." You shook your head. "I've just been feeling nauseous and extremely tired, but no fever, hopefully."

"You should go to the doctor."

"I know, I will. I have so much to do, with my exams coming next week. I'll find time after if I don't feel better, I guess."

"Don't you think you could be pregnant?"

"What? Of course not." You chuckled. The idea didn't even cross your mind. You couldn't be pregnant.

"Well, you have the symptoms. And I'm a 100% sure you and Pierre are sexually active."

You thought for a second. She was so sure of herself that you started doubting. Could you be pregnant? No, you couldn't.

"Not all sexually active women get pregnant, Gia. Besides, I take the pill. There's no way I could have gotten pregnant. It's probably the stress of the exams that makes me sick, nothing else."

"You should still go to a doctor. Tell me when you know more!"

"Will do, thank you Gia. I'll call you for the race, I have to read my lessons, and I think I'm going to empty my stomach again in the toilet right now."

You didn't wait for an answer and ran to the bathroom, throwing up another time.

After your long hard week, your nausea didn't stop. You went to the doctor who confirmed Giada's theory. He gave you a pregnancy test but you didn't find the courage to take it. Pierre came back from Brazil and he planned to take you to Normandy to see his family. The test could wait for another day or two!

The weekend was good, you loved Pierre's family. It wasn't the first time you met them so you were already at ease with them. You were still very tired and kept throwing up, it was even worse than the week before. You definitely needed some rest.

"Are you sure you're alright, Y/N?" Pierre was rubbing your back as you were sitting next to the toilet after getting out of bed to throw up. You were tired and you knew that every day that passed where you were still sick was a confirmation that you were pregnant.

"Yes, it's nothing, I guess I've just eaten something bad." You sniffed.

"Come on, brush your teeth, I'll make you breakfast." He kissed your head and left you to go to his family house's kitchen.

After brushing your teeth, you grabbed the pregnancy test from your handbag. You didn't have much choice now, did you? You needed to know.

Once the pink "+" sign appeared, you couldn't hold a sob. You were pregnant with a Formula 1 driver's baby, you were only 22 and still a student. What were you going to do? What would Pierre think about this? You never talked about having children before, you were only together for a year and a half. Was it enough to start a family?

You needed some air. You hid the test at the bottom of the dustbin, grabbed your coat and left the house without anyone noticing. You needed to think clearly and you couldn't do that by staying in Pierre's family home. You walked to a lighthouse not far and sat on the steps. You couldn't stop crying, for everything. You didn't know how you felt, really. You weren't ready for a baby now, but the simple thought of holding your baby in your arms warmed your heart. This wasn't a decision you could take in a few seconds, nor a decision you could take alone. You were two in this, three even.

"Y/N." You heard Pierre's caring voice behind you. You tried to hide your face but he instantly tried to wipe off your tears once he saw them on your cheeks. "Ma chérie, what's going on?"

Your mouth was opened but nothing was coming out.

"You know you can tell me anything."

"I'm pregnant." You finally whispered without looking at him in the eyes. He was silent for a moment and you cried some more as you thought he was going to leave you alone, pregnant with his baby.

"For real?"

"Yes, for real, Pierre! It's not freaking April's fools!" You exclaimed, getting irritated. Of course you had some time to adjust to the thought of being pregnant, he didn't. It's normal he went through the denial phase you had.

"There's our baby in there." He delicately put his hands on your flat stomach, touching your skin under your coat and sweatshirt. His voice wasn't mad at all, on the contrary. His eyes were glowing as he stared at your belly. "Why are you crying? This is the best news ever, Y/N!" He exclaimed, now looking at your face. You put your hands on his as you shook your head.

"I don't-I don't know how to feel. I don't know how to do this, Pierre!" You were frustrated.

"Move in with me."

"What?"

"Move in with me to Monaco. You only have 1 month of classes left. You can do your internship in Monaco, and then you'll get your degree. We can do this, I know we can. This may not be in the right order, having a baby now. But I know I want this, with you. Can you imagine, a little baby with your eyes and my smile?"

"Yeah, I can imagine, actually." You chuckled through your tears. This was a beautiful image. "I can't believe I'm going to be a mum."

"The best mum. I can't wait to start a family with you, Y/N, and our little peanut." He stroke your stomach once more.

"I won't be coming to Monaco if you call it peanut. This is a baby, not some monkey food!" You laughed.

"Yes, it's our baby."
