This is for LA14_LH44 , a first F1 podium for Lando! :))

---

It had been two difficult years for Lando at McLaren, but finally, the car looked competitive. You could feel the excitement in the garage, the atmosphere was very different from the year before. It was the British GP, which means it was the home Grand Prix for both the team and Lando. Everyone was in a good mood and you just felt it would be a great weekend.

Lando had started the race in P9. Once the lights were off, his orange car sped off and he passed a Renault and a Red Bull in the first lap. The sky was becoming incredibly dark and it was a matter of time before it started raining. McLaren made the call and Lando put wet tyres just after the first drops of rain started falling. Nobody else had changed tyres yet. But what were small drops turned into pouring rain in seconds. All the drivers had to slow down, making it easy for Lando to drive past them as he had the only tyres that had adherence on the track. Behind him, a Ferrari crashed into a Force India. Every driver used the safety car to change tyres and, just like that, Lando found himself on the second place.

You don't remember much after that. The last 10 laps were hell for you, praying at each corner that his car would hold on a bit more. You couldn't believe Lando was about to score his first Formula 1 podium. He had talked about it so much!

The whole team was holding a breath, the excitement replaced by tension. Now was not the time to mess up. At the beginning of the last lap, Lando's engineer made a sign for you to come closer and he handed you a headset so you could hear your boyfriend on the radio. Charles Leclerc drove through the finish line, putting an end to a chaotic GP. One last corner and, finally, Lando Norris crossed the line too.

His engineer told him about his standing, P2. But Lando didn't answer anything. You could hear him crying though and you felt tears rolling on your cheeks too. The intensity of the race and the proudness you felt for your boyfriend got the best of you. You could not describe how you were feeling at the moment, and you couldn't even imagine how Lando was feeling.

As he parked his car in parc fermé, the McLaren team ran to the podium. You were so focused on Lando that you didn't even see nor hear the team's reaction. One of the mechanics grabbed you by the arm and took you to the podium, pushing you through the bodies so you were facing the barriers. It was still pouring outside and you found yourself soaked within minutes. It was worth it, though.

Lando took his time to step out of his car. He took his helmet off and stared at his car for a few seconds, probably to let the feeling sink it. He didn't win the race today, but it sure felt like it. The feeling was so intense, more than anything he had ever experienced before. He just couldn't wait to feel it all again.

When his eyes finally looked around, he noticed his team, jumping, shouting, hugging. He owed everything to them. The driver is nothing without his car. He took the time to thank each one of them, only being interrupted by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton who congratulated him.

Finally, his eyes set on you. Your hair were sticked to your face because of the rain and your clothes were pressed against your body. He took your face between his hands, staring at you for a moment.

"I'm so, so proud of you, Lando. You deserve all of this, my champion."

You saw his eyes tear up at all the love you were giving him. You were still crying, still not over the fact that your boyfriend was on the podium of a F1 race.

"Shhh, please don't cry baby." His forehead was pushed against yours, your noses brushing against each other. "You should go back to the garage, you're going to get sick in here."

You chuckled. Lando was always protective of you, but in that moment, you didn't care about anything but him. If you had to sneeze for a week after that, it would be worth it.

"Are you seriously saying this right now?"

He laughed, knowing you didn't like when he was being so protective. It was definitely cute and sweet but you always told him you could take care of yourself.

"I love you, Y/N."

"I love you too. Now, go get your trophy. And if you're lucky enough, I'll let you warm me up in your driver's cabin afterwards."

Lando blushed slightly before leaning in and sweetly kissing your lips. This kiss felt so much different from any other. This podium was definitely going to change him for the best.

As his name was called on the podium, you saw him put his hands up and the team around you cheering. When he raised his trophy in the air, in front of his fans and team, you knew. He was your champion for now, but soon, he'll be the champion.
