Nandini's Pov

I started collecting ingredients from the cabinet to cook food, while I saw Avni looking for muffins in the fridge. I sighed at her, as I saw Manik preparing Gajar ka halwa with Abhay. Avni was reading the steps from cooking book for them and helping them to locate things in the kitchen. I smiled at their teamwork.

Avni, Almonds mele kya? Manik turned to her, only to caught her with muffins in her mouth. She grinned fakely at him. He glared her back.

That was mine. No sharing and caring. Manik pulled out muffin box from her to his utter dismay two were already in her tummy. He made the crying face at her, he stomped his foot, making me and Abhay laugh at their banter.

Daddy, sharing is caring. Avni kissed his cheeks still loaded with muffins in her mouth. We all went aww on her except Manik, who was looking his rest two muffins with agony. Damn! That boy truly had a strong sweet tooth with a kind heart.

Dad ye jal jayega. Manik was on his foot to see gajar ka halwa. I smiled at them as I started preparing the rest of dinner and the desert.

Avni passed him dry fruits, which she finally find out in the fridge. Abhay started heating pan to fry dry fruits in ghee. He is too used with kitchen equipment, he goes around things like a pro. Impressing Manik with his skills. I smiled proudly at my son.

How are you both so good at cooking? Manik finally questioned seeing the way Abhay cutting the almonds. It was too professional for a small boy, if not he is Abhay Malhotra.

We used to have cookery classes in our school. So, I know basic too well. He used his knife, even amusing me sometimes. Just like a chef.

This doesn't sound like basic for me at least. Manik gave side glance to his chopping. It even made me doubtful sometimes. He rubbed his nape started slowly chopping. Making Avni giggle in mischief. And here we have an answer to all question.

Practice you know. He flaunted knife at me.

Even Jaanu is chopping from years. I have never seen her chopping so fine and fast. Was he trying to make a point or commenting on my drawbacks? I glared him, he didn't even look at me. How rude?

You're degrading my mamma. Hay, mera pyara baccha. I blew a kiss at him, glaring Manik. Who rolled his eyes and gave tight smile to his son.

Hogaya natak. Manik patted his back, switching off the stove, while he kept another pan to prepare butter chicken for kids on their heavy demand. And I settled myself with paneer curry with butter naan. Simply yum!

Voh. Abhay trailed off, I concentrated on him while I passed things Manik asked me to. Avni started listing things going to pan and method to prepare for them yet again.

I'm listening. Manik replied to him. Abhay started cutting chicken after washing thoroughly much to my dismay. Poor chicken. Ayyo! They are eating already died animal. Do you think they care?

I and Mrudula went to cooking classes in Britain after music workshops. Abhay dug himself in chopping that he missed my glaring, but I'm sure he is very aware of my angry stare at him.

And when were you planning to say me this? My hands were on my waist. I could hear a giggle from Avni, Manik looked amused at his son than being mad at him.

Sorry, Mamma, I didn't intend to hide it from you. It was just that, it slipped from my mind. It was like almost a year back. When you didn't know anything about Mrudula. So, I never said and things got settled. I don't remember this matter until papa pointed now. I glared him. How can I forget the plans he made back then? That boy I tell you.
