I blinked my eyes open, as I tried to get my eyes to adjust to the brightness. Was I dead? I had to be, right? Cause nobody survives a stab to the heart like that. I looked down to see I was in some casually clothes and I was sitting on a green couch. I looked ahead of me and on a wall said, "Welcome! Everything is fine!"
I waited a bit, having no idea what to do but after a bit the door opened and a man with white hair, black glasses, and a bow tie popped his head out. He looked someone old but at the same time pretty good in an old guy sense. "Hello y/n. Come on in."
He walked into the room he came from and I followed him in. He sat on one side of a desk, and I sat on the other side, waiting for him to talk.
"Hello y/n, I'm Michael." "Hey I met another Michael but you two don't look a thing a like.." "I haven't met you before, so I'm not this other Michael you speak of."
I nodded my head and sweeper my eyes around the room, looking at all of the random human stuff here including an extremely large bowl filled with purely just paper clips.
"So how are you today?" "Um, actually feeling great. But where exactly am I and why am I here?" "Ah yes, you y/n l/n, are dead. Your life on Earth has ended and you are in your next phase in the universe."
"So I'm dead and I'm in the afterlife?" "Yep. Do you know how you died?" Memories flashed through my head of what happened and things in my past and I hissed out an answer, "Yes."
"Yes, since your Death wasn't traumatic nor embarrassing we let you remember just how it happened."
"Well, who was right? You know, about all of this?" "Well everyone got bits of pieces of it right, really just about 5 percent right. Except Doug Forcett."
"I'm sorry, who?" "This guy from the 70's who got really high on mushrooms, and then his friend asked him what he thinks happens when we die. Doug just kept going and going and got about 92 percent of it right. We weren't believing what we were hearing."
"So am I up there or down there?" "Well right now you are in a purgatory like state. It used to be that you were put in the Good Place or the Bad Place by all of your actions in your life being weighed by positive and negative scores. We still use that a bit now, but things have been changed a bit and you have to go through a bit of a trial now." "Oh?"
"Yes, like soon you'll have to go through a door soon to be trialed." Michael got up and pulled me up as well while shaking my hand. "Well it was nice to meet you y/n. I hope you get in the good place!" "Same to you Michael, and I hope so to."
I stepped over to another door before taking in a breath and opening the door.
