"Jackson, Mollie?!" I squealed "What are you doing home?!"
My brother Jackson stood staring at me with a grin on his face whilst my little sister Mollie had her arms wrapped tightly around my waist.
"Good to see you sis," Jackson replied, still grinning "You lost weight?"
"Not that I was aware off..."I trailed off, pulling Jackson into a bear hug.
"You definitely have Azzie," Mollie chimed in, looking up at me.
"Well thanks guys, but what are you doing home, did you not like it at dad's?"
"We missed you, Silly!" Mollie shouted "Daddy wants to see you super soon though!"
I rolled my eyes. I didn't really tend to go to my dad's because I knew that involved spending time with Brenda, my step-mom, who I didn't really like much.
"You know Asia, you shouldn't really take your dislike on Brenda out on dad, he really misses you." Jackson stated matter-of-factly.
"I know," I moaned "It's just hard to get past that personality of hers. I've seen more life in a loaf of bread,"
Mollie quietly giggled to herself at my comment.
"So, where's mom?" Jackson asked looking around.
"Where do you think?" I responded raising an eyebrow.
Jackson nodded his head and set his and Mollie's suitcases down in the living room.
"So Mollie-Moo, want to help me make dinner? I'm going to make spaghetti, your favorite!"
"Yes, yes, yes!" she replied jumping up and down excitedly.
"Alright, well go and get your apron on and wash your hands," I said nudging her into the kitchen.
Before I could blink she was out of the living room and into the kitchen.
"Asia, are you feeling okay? you look unw-" Jackson started.
"Yes I'm fine, that's all I've heard all day long and I don't need it at home too," I cut him off.
"Okay, okay, just take it easy. Mom told me about your eye," Jackson said stifling a laugh.
I pointed a warning finger at him jokingly.
"It's good to have you back Jack, seriously. I've missed the two of you," I said softly.
"We've missed you too, there's no place like home. Seriously though, give dad a call." Jackson said, retreating up to his room suitcase in hand.
I gave him a small nod and turned into the kitchen.
"Ready Molls? Lets get started," I said rubbing my hands together quickly.
Walking over to cupboard, I reached up and got out some tinned tomatoes.
"Get the mince meat out of the fridge, will you?" I said turning to Mollie.
She nodded her head eagerly and turned to the fridge.
After opening the can of tomatoes, I got some basil out of the spice rack and sprinkled some into the can. After Mollie dumped the packet of mince onto the counter I asked her to get out two large pots.
